Thank you for taking a peak at my friends 1971 VW Karmann Ghia. I am very familiar with air cooled VW, but I am no expert by any means. I have been storing this car for my friend and now its got to go( has a baby on the way with no more time to restore). He started the process of restoring the car. It has good floor pans, body is in good condition ( nose looks to have no damage) the seats and carpet are in good condition. The bumpers are new, new window stripping. Engine runs good, and transmission goes through all of the gears smoothly. It has a t-handle short shifter on it ( which I don't care for, but who cares not my car :) ) Here are the things that car will need . The main wiring harness will need to be replaced, the old one has been hacked into quite a bit. If you know electrical you may be able to salvage the current one, but if it were me I would replace it to return to original condition. The battery will need to be replaced, I did start the car this weekend, but I had to use jumper cables to do so. Will need the two front air intake grilles. Needs a new dash top cover and front, my friend took the old one off to put a custom fiberglass one on, but never got around to it. The paint on the is a good 20 footer, but not show quality. Car will be a good daily driver with just a little bit of work, or a good start for a complete restoration.Don't miss out on this good deal!!!
