Selling a 2001 Saab 9-3 4-door hatchback with a 185 hp 2.0 turbo engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. It has been a 1-owner vehicle for the past 11 years up until I purchased it a month ago. I'm selling because my plans have changed and I need a truck- this Saab has been excellent and I would like to keep it but need a truck. It has to be one of the best original Saab 9-3s left in the country. Everything works perfectly and the engine and transmission run very smoothly as one would expect with 48k miles. The engine revs freely and quietly, the transmission slips easily into all gears, the clutch feels perfect and smooth, the steering is tight and tracks straight, and the brakes feel great. The engine bay, underneath, wheel wells, and interior are all very clean. Besides the expected light corrosion on underbody suspension parts and shocks, and brake calipers, I have found no body or wheel-well rust at all. The only corrosion I found were a couple very small spots on the bottom edge of the driver side doors and small paint blister on the rear fender. I think the driver side rear fender panel was dinged and repaired at one time but the paint work looks great. Looks like the bottom half of the panel was re-sprayed. I checked all of the wheel-wells and found no rust on the insides or behind the fender/wheel-well edges. Underneath the rear and middle of the vehicle body is rust free as well. I have included pictures of these areas. The paint still shines like new and was obviously cared for by the original owner. All plastic trim and rubber door seals are excellent- no tears or wear. The interior is in mint condition- near brand new looking and still smells like a new car. Again, the original owner was very responsible and kept the interior perfect. No finger prints, dirt, or worn parts anywhere. All controls, guages and instruments work like new. Hand-brake works great. Key/ignition feels perfect. AC is ice cold and the fan speeds/controls all feel new. The radio and CD player work perfrctly too. All windows and door locks/alarm work smoothly- like new, as well as the power sunroof and mirrors. The SID unit (Saab Info. Display) has just had the pixels fixed and it works 100%- common issue but fixed. This Saab 9-3 was lightly used and is basically like a 3-4 year old vehicle. The original owner was a responsible adult. It gets 21-30 mpg and is very versatile with the huge trunk/hatchback as well as 4 doors. I have just changed the engine oil and filter with Mobil 1 full synthetic 0W-40 which meets Saabs specs (A3-B3 oil). The coolant looks clean and is not the cheap light green stuff. The Saab 2.0T engine has a timing chain (no belt). This Saab is very healthy and is an amazingly new machine for the price. All 4 tires are almost new Michelins. Very nice rubber Saab mats and the original carpet mats. The rear trunk shelf/cover is included. All original manuals, two remote keys (one key is missing the battery cover), window sticker, and many oil change service receipts included. It is an excellent, all original Saab- excellent condition throughout. The manual climate control and seats are a plus as well for their basic durability compared with computer controlled units. Also has airbags, traction control (on or off button), and ABS- very good in winter. Saab 9-3s had a European 4-star crash test rating which was well above average. The roof structure is stronger than most cars as well- Saabs back in rallying days, would fair extremely well in roll overs, even without roll cages. Vehicle is being sold "as is" with no guarantee and no returns accepted. Vehicle is titled, registered and inspected in MA but I am still waiting for the actual title doc. from Mass. The door looks and functions perfectly. All doors shut with a nice solid feel. No rattles and all power locks and windows are perfectly smooth.
