Vehicle Detail

1991 Geo Metro, 4-Door Hatchback 45+ MPG! A Little HistoryI've had this car since January of 2012. I was involved in a car accident in December of 2011 where my car, a Civic Hybrid, was totaled by the insurance company. Not wanting to shell out big bucks for another hybrid vehicle, I started looking for a car that could get the 40-50MPG, to which I had grown accustomed. This led me to the Geo Metro.I abhor the idea of spending $80 to fill up my car, only to get 300 miles, while lining the pockets of shameless corporations like BP in the process. To fill this car up from bone empty costs $29. That's right folks, $29. $29 to get drive nearly 400 miles? Doesn't get much better than that. My Civic Hybrid couldn't even do that. This 3 cylinder sips gasoline. I've used weedwackers that use more gas! (Not really, but you get the idea.)Currently, the car is my daily driver. Since January of this year, I have put nearly 13,000 miles on the car, pretty much all highway. It has never once left me stranded or failed to start. Not once. I'd drive the car to California today and feel completely confident in doing so.Let's discuss the car itself in a little more detail, shall we?The car is a 5-speed manual transmission. The car currently has 174,xxx miles. Obviously subject to change because I am still driving it on a daily basis. The previous owner, replaced the windshield, replaced the timing belt, installed a new exhaust, replaced the alternator and changed the oil and filter every 3000 miles. Since I've had the vehicle, I have performed the following:-Replaced all four tires. 155-80-R12 -Replaced the passenger front control arm and ball joint -Replaced rear passenger wheel bearing -Replaced front passenger wheel bearing -Replaced rear driver wheel bearing -Replaced front passenger outer tie rod -Replaced front driver outer tie rod -Replaced both sides, front disc brake pads -Replaced both sides, rear drum brake shoes -Replaced passenger sealed beam headlight -Replaced serpentine belt for alternator/water pump -Installed new battery (has one year warranty) -Installed in-dash CD player with iPod connection. -Installed new hubcaps. -Changed oil and filter every 3000-5000 miles.I have receipts for all of these items. The car starts up, runs, shifts and drives exceptionally well. The *only* exception to this is there is a slight rattle under the car at times. I suspect it is a loose bolt or plate of some kind. The car does not overheat. Not even in the 100+ degree days we’ve been having. Car does not burn oil at all.The interior is in fairly decent shape, given the age of the vehicle. I have seat covers on the front seats. There is a full-size spare tire in the trunk.Other DetailsI currently have a clear, Maryland title in hand, ready to be signed over to the new owner. The car can be registered HISTORIC in Maryland, thus eliminating the need to have it pass Maryland State Inspection. I can simply sign over the title to you and you can register it and get tags the same day!Quick and easy. The price is $1,000,000.00, or best offer.Think you're going to steal it for a cool $500? Think again. With the reliability and gas/insurance cost savings that this car offers, I'd be a fool to sell it for some paltry sum like $500. Please, don’t make unrealistic offers. In 6 months, the car pays for itself in fuel and insurance savings. Why am I selling?Sort of asking myself the same question. I am going to be out of the country for an indeterminate amount of time. I don't want to rent storage space and maintain insurance on a car that I am not driving. I really don't want to sell the car, but I feel as though it makes most sense given my current situation.Questions? Want to see the car? Give me a call or text. 443.863.8205 Photos:
