Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a 1967 American Motors Ambassador 990. It runs and drives great. It has the Typhoon 343 High Compression 4 barrel V8 engine with an automatic transmission. It has 57,000 original miles on it. It was elderly owned and garage kept for most of it's life. The body is very solid and is in pretty good shape. The underside of the car is very solid. Pretty much the only rust on it is a little on the back wheel wells, a little surface rust on the trunk lid and roof, and a few other small mics. rust spots. The floors and trunk pan are very solid except for a small rust hole in the trunk pan that's about the size of a 50 cent peice. The paint is in good shape but all of it doesn't match quite perfectly since the elderly man did some of the body repairs himself and didn't get the paint just right such as on the front driver side fender and on the rear quarter panels. The white roof has faded and there is no longer any clear coat on it but the rest of the car does. The rear bumper had been painted white by the elderly man since it started to rust. The interior is in very good shape. The seats, panels, and carpet are all very nice. All of the glass and trim is in good condition except for the hood orniment is broken off. It has good tires, a very good marine battery, and a new electronic spark control box. The brakes need some attention though. It stops but it pulls to the one side and they need gone through. I've installed a new wheel cylinder on it already and I have another one yet that needs put on but it goes with the car. The car has a slow gas leak from a leaky gas line but it's just a slow drip when the car is running. I lost the original keys to the car so I bought a new igition for the car and I put it in but it doesn't latch onto the dash like the original one so it just hangs down at the bottom of the dash and the key way for the trunk lid has been taken out and the trunk now opens with a screw driver. It has a good exhaust and it sounds great. This car is very powerfull and fast. It will do a burnout no problem. I drove the car as my daily driver for the summer of 2010. I have the original owner's manual, brochure, jack & spare tire, and front floor mat for it that all go with it. With a little work, this would make a very cool, easy, restoration project. The car is sold "As Is", "Where Is" and does not come with a warranty. I do NOT except Paypal. Cash in person or money order only. Buyer is responsible for pickup within 7 days of auction closing. I would not recommend driving it home due to the brakes and gas leak but it will definately drive up onto a trailer. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking and bidding.
