Vehicle Detail

1963 FORD GALAXIE CONVERTIBLE...ROCK SOLID AND RESTORED 390 V8 ENGINE+++ 3 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION POWER BRAKES +++ POWER STEERING RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT VIN 3E69X112589 UP FRONT: This is not a sugar coated discription! I'm 66 years old and have sold many cars and have found that most of us old guys don't want a sales pitch (old guys like me buy most of the cars). Most guys want a direct and detailed discription. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so it must work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TITLE: Clear Ohio title in hand and car was said to have come from the south to the Cincinnati, Ohio area. NUT SHELL::: I consider this a upper end driver quality car, everywhere you look it looks real good. Its been restored for about 6 years and not abused. Its as nice as I would want to drive on the street or to my local car show. The car is not a perfect roll out of the trailer show car, its just a nice restored car to drive and enjoy. It drives great, it runs great, to stops very good, everything works other than the original clock, the AM radio and door lights even work, "the horn works". IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? "This is not a rust bucket"! The body has no rust bubbles, the underside looks like all the original floors and support members, the frame is solid, the car still has the factory under-coating. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a classic car restorer, but when I find a car I like, can sell for a fair market price and make a few bucks, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: The car is straight to look down the sides and the paint has a brillant shine, no dents and no dings. Under a critical eye inspection you might find a few specs and a tiny rock chip that has been touched up down low, but you have to look real hard. I consider this a nice paint job! CHROME AND BRIGHTWORK: The chrome is very nice, the emblems very good, they only real thing I can find with a critical eye inspection is a couple of super small pitts in the back bumper and a couple of little scuffs on the trim. INTEROR: The interior looks good, it has no real wear and its not faded, it has no bad smells. If I was going to be real critical I would say I see some faded areas in the carpet and a couple of small dirty spots on the lay in floor mats. The interior is nice! CONVERTIBLE TOP: It is good with no holes and no bad stains. It is not brand new, but good. It is power operated and works good, the boot for when the top is down fits good. UNDERSIDE: Not detailed for show, but the brackets, frame and mounts are all good. This not a rusty car! The floors look good and original, I consider this a nice solid car. GLASS: Good clear glass, the windows roll up and down good and the rubber is very good. The windshield has no wiper marks and no stone chips. ENGINE: It has no blue smoke, no unwanted nosises and no bad oil leaks. It has the original 4 barrell carb flat top carb that works good. Past owner said it was a 390 cubic inch and it runs like one. The VIN says the car came out with a 352, they both look the same. I put the car on a rack and looked for the block casting numbers, I did not find them. If you want a perfect matching numbers car, you should keeping looking, I don't know for sure if the original 352 or if it is a replacement 390. To be honest it makes no difference to me, it looks and smells like a 390. Only a hand full of purest would know and any time you get a car this nice for my price you have done well. "The engine is good". EXHAUST SYSTEM: Well used pipes, but usable. The mufflers are old school glass pacs and sound good. The first thing you would have to replace on this car is the pipes, they are old and rusty color, I think they would last at least a couple of years. TRANSMISSION: Its a 3 speed automatic, it shifts good. REAR-END: No whines or growls, it a 9 inch Ford. BRAKES: Good, they are drums all around and have a good power booster. STEERING: Good, the car drives great, it is power steering. WHEELS AND TIRES: The wheels are 14 inch Ford steel, the tires are good radials, the hubcaps are original Ford wire/spinners, they are good, but the spinners have a few pitts.. LIGHTS: They work, turn signals work, headlights work, tail lights work, brake lights work, interior lights work. GUAGES: They all work. SPEEDOMETER WORKS! GAS GAUGE WORKS! wipers work! HORN works! HEATER BLOWER WORKS. Original RADIO WORKS! HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? I think they open and close good. PANEL FIT: I think they all fit good, the trunk gap is off just a little on the right rear corner, I'll adjust it a little, but its no bad. BAD STUFF: The original clock does not work, a couple of pitts in the rear bumper, if you look super hard with a critical eye you will find a couple of specs in the paint (how many perfect paint jobs have you seen?), THE CAR IS SOLID ON THE UNDER-SIDE, BUT NOT DETAILED FOR SHOW. GOOD STUFF: The car looks good enough to enter a car show, it is solid/no rust issues, you don't have to do a thing to the car if you don't want to. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the car, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. I am 66 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 40. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 42 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $500 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car, this can be by PayPal, but I will not take full payment by PayPal. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest and fastest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! TRADES: Please no trades! BOTTOM LINE: My firm price is $19,850, I'm asking $22,850 on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle. Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it! Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com IS THERE A WARRANTY? No!
