This Mercedes-Benz model, known as the W123 series, is famous for its extreme durability and long service life. Many of W123 diesels have gone over 500,000 miles without major overhauls. They literally don't make them like this anymore and good examples are getting hard to find. This car has a 5-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, automatic transmission, power windows, power sunroof, block heater and battery tender. It is a rust-free western car, currently registered in Nevada with smog valid through June 2013. The body is straight and solid with no dents other than parking-lot dings and all the trim is present. The seats, carpets, headliner and door panels are all in very good condition with no tears or stains. The exterior is a light metallic blue (repainted by previous owner, originally silver) and the interior is dark blue Mercedes vinyl. The car runs and drives well and all major systems, lights and gauges work correctly. A few known issues: Trim panel below passenger side of dash is missing; AC and cruise control are not working; central locking system doesn’t work if car hasn't been driven for a while; odometer does not register correctly. Comes with a vintage Blaupunkt radio, but it's not wired in. Since posting this ad, I have received several inquiries about why the AC does not work. Unfortunately, I don't know, except that the AC hoses were cut by the previous owner. I bought this car to keep at a vacation property where it was only driven a few times a year. The car runs well and meets our needs, so I have not taken the time to repair investigate minor issues like the AC, radio and cruise control.
