With a peppy 102 HP engine, this wagon will get you around town in style. While the Pinto wasn't received well at its birth - Forbes named it on its list of Worst Cars of All Time - the Pinto is now a classic and few remain. Designed to compete with the smaller import cars such as the newly introduced Datsun 1200, the Pinto weighs less than 2000 pounds and quite literally blew the competition off the road. ( In 1978, Ford recalled the Pinto to install additional safety plating behind the fuel tank - this car was produced in 1979 and came with those safety enhancements as standard.) This specific vehicle is in well used condition, but still has years ahead to run. Most importantly, this car lacks any rust on the then sophisticated unibody design - it is thought this car lived in California. Mechanically in fine form, the 2.8 L engine starts right up and runs well without issue. A new battery has just been installed and oil service has recently been performed. Khumo "Power Star" tires have been installed in the last 1000 miles and still have good tread. They are mounted to upgraded 15" stylin' chrome alloy wheels. The body, too, is in good shape - accident free and sporting just a small number of minor dings. A small amount of fading has occured on the optional body striping. The interior is finished in the very desirable Plaid/Red leather combination and features low slung bucket seats throughout. A large tailgate area means this little wagon is capable of carrying several surf boards, or any other cargo you desire.
