Vehicle Detail
Hello Ebayers, This car is up for auction again as the last bidder was a scam. That said, he was the only bidder which has me thinking the starting price may have been a little high. The opening price is extremely low for this car and the auction's winner is going to be very pleased. Up for sale is my highly factory optioned 1971 M Code Mustang Convertible. I bought this car 8 years ago on ebay having no idea how rare it was. I drove it from St. Louis to my home in Virginia and was very impressed with the handling, acceleration and braking. So I took a look at the suspension and ordered a Marti Report. It turns out that this car is optioned the same as a highly equipped Mach 1. This car is 1 of 414 built with the 351 4V motor and C-6 transmission. It is 1 of 1 with the paint/trim code. The car has the following options from the factory as per the Marti Report: * M Code 351 4V motor * 3.00 Traction-Lok Differential * C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic transmission * Competition Suspension ( Heavy duty sway bars, opposed mounted shocks) * Tachometer * Guage Package Oil, Water, Amps * Power Steering * Power Front Disc Brakes * Air Conditioner Selectaire There are many other factory options that you can see on the photo of the Marti Report. After seeing how well this car drove and I knew it had to be brought to show condition. We did a spare no expense restoration with everything dissassembled and brought back to like new. The work was performed by an outfit that specializes in Shelby Mustangs. The paint is absolutely fantastic and all areas are nicely detailed. We added a German canvas top with glass window, Mach 1 stripes and rear spoiler, and a new hood with Ram Air induction system. The motor and transmission were rebuilt and and the engine compartment and underside were nicely detailed. I have 2 radios for this car and have not had them installed. It starts, stops, shifts, steers, sounds and smells like it should. It passes the Va state safety inspection. The car is original with the factory options intact. It has an outstanding flawless showcar paintjob and a beautiful black interior. It has not spent a night out side since the restoration was completed in 2008. The costs of restoration are well over $50,000. I have really enjoyed this car but it is now time to get something a little newer that I can leave out of the garage from time to time. Let my loss be your gain. I am starting the price at a very reasonable level and have no reserve to make sure it sells. A personal or third party inspection is welcomed and you may call me to answer any questions that you may have. I will assist you in any way that I can to get this car delivered to you. I would like a $1000 PayPal deposit with 48hours of auction's end. Thanks for looking! John 703 623-9424 cell
