Vehicle Detail
This is one of the last Buick Rivieras as they stopped making them with a limited run in 1999. Over the past two years I have seen their value start to rise again as most are recognizing that it is destine to be a collectable, and also is a fun an luxurious car to drive that has a low cost of ownership. Powerful, easy to handle, and a true pleasure to drive. Thi a very low milage Riv that originally came from Florida and over the past 2 years I have owned it I had the ignition system redone, new rear air shocks, redid the brakes and many other updates. I had been proactive on the maintenace. The tires even have about 75% of their tread. This had been my business car, but between now my job is having me take more clients to lunch and I have a daughter now so it was time to go with a 4 door. This was my 3rd Riviera and I love the cars. This car is completely functional and ready to drive home. The only thing I had left to do on the car is replace the rear air pump for the rear air shocks. I had already had the rear air shocks replaced when we found the pump did not want to stop pumping, but it does not affect the ride as the they set the rear suspension at a normal ride level and turned off the pump, but the car does sense the rear pump needs replacing and give you a traction control light at points. Everything else works as it should. Ice cold A/C, smooth shifting, powerful pickup, and a great ride.On Jul-11-12 at 05:53:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Updated milage is now 52.8K. On Jul-11-12 at 05:55:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Car is actually in Denville, NJOn Jul-12-12 at 06:16:51 PDT, seller added the following information: One common question is how much will it cost to have the pump replaced for the air shocks in the rear. The quote I had gotten from Firestone was between $500 and $600 installed. After replacing the rear air shocks but before we realized the pump needed replacing also, my situation had changed and I purchased a four door car. Another common question is rust. I know of not a single spec of rust on the whole car nor the underbody. The body panels of the Riviera were made of galvanized metal so even with an old 1985 model I had when a fender bender had left the bar metal on one of the fenders it never rusted. Another is that while yes it did come from Florida, it was central florida and not on the beach and was traded into a new car dealer. One last one is why is this low milage Riviera listing for half what two others are now with similar low milage? Well I guess we'll see if the other two sell, but the closest I can see is that mine could use a $500-$600 air pump for the rear shocks, but you could also just drive it the way it is now, and mine has no sun roof and is in green. Other than that, everything else looks similar. So unless you are set on the color or a sun-roof, you could get this one for $5K versus one of the other two for $10K.
