Vehicle Detail
Here is a nice '28 Tudor Sedan with many early features. It is not an AR, but it has the red steering wheel, bayonet-style dipstick, tuna-fish can taillights, early oil pan, and tall lug nuts. It has been repainted once for sure - black over the original blue. I believe that all the sheet metal is original and some original interior parts remain, including the rear seat. Fronts have likely been recovered or repaired and the door panels were definitely replaced. Runs and drives good, but does not have the smoothest idle (I can email two videos with sound of the car idling during warm-up and after). Mechanical brakes work well. Newer timing gear. The fenders and body are outstanding on this car; the brightwork is serviceable, but a little rough. If you want a very solid car with lots of originality, this one is for you. A curved-back trunk and an extra spare tire go with the car, too. Thanks. John On Saturday, July 14, I changed the plugs and took her out for about a five mile ride. Started fine, ran strong, no stalling, steers smoothly, and brakes without pulling. The starter did stick on once when starting, but kicking the button stopped it right away. The idle is acceptable and fairly smooth, but slightly higher than ideal. The idle is consistent and does not roll up and down. I could not find any vacuum leaks by spraying with WD-40. This leads me to believe that the carb could use a good cleaning, at least. The dial on the choke knob is best open a 1/2 turn; any less and it will pop from running too lean. It does not blow any black smoke or appear to run rich with the knob in that position.
