Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE!!!! Fresh out of storage from a private collection of muscle cars and now up for auction is a rare and hard to find 1970 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS 442. YESSS ITS A TRUE 442!! It has the BIG BLOCK 455 Rocket engine along with the His and Hers Console shifted Turbo 400 Automatic transmission with a mild stall converter. Roughly a 3000 rpm stall. The 455 that is in the car now is not the original, but the (currently disassembled) NUMBERS MATCHING Motor is included and will go with the car. This 442 has been sitting in a dry storage building since the late 1980's and has just recently been pulled out. With a fresh battery and some fresh gas bottle fed to it, it now is currently running and drives around the lot, brakes work as well, but will defenitly need to be gone through to be road worthy. The carburtor for sure, is in dire need of a rebuild. This is not a W-30 package car, but was ordered with the W-30 Ram Air hood which seem to be odd in itself. The interior is factory white and the body is black and has gold decals. The floors, rockers, and trunk pans are SUPER SOLID as well as the fenders and doors. The car has headers along with a 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust and it is in good shape as well. The original manifolds go with the car as well. The only issue bodywise is that the hood is slightly seperated in the front and the rear lower quarters were bondoed sometime in the early 80's and it shows. The wheels are the 14" factory ralleys and the rear end is a 12 bolt POSI with a 4.10 gear ratio. YES both tires will spin with ease. The VA Title is Clean and Clear. I encourage anyone interested in the car to come look, touch, feel, and see the car so you know what you kind of classic American Muscle you are exactly bidding on. Any questions feel free to ask. The car is over 40 years old and I would hope that anyone bidding on it is understanding of that. I am selling this car in as is condition and with NO RESERVE and I am starting it a a stupid cheap price to give everyone a fair chance to obtain it for their collection! Highest bidder takes this rare car home. There will be more cars to come soon. Thanks and good luck bidding. On Jul-14-12 at 14:25:31 PDT, seller added the following information:WOW! Apparently this is more rare of a Cutlass 442 than i thought. Apparently it is a POST COUPE which seems to be more desireable in the 442 lineup. I never expected this much attention and desire on this car. Thank to all who have emailed and called so far. To answer a few more common questions... Yes the original engine is a 455 cubic inch. The body is super solid and the only major issues are the front of the hood and rear quarters. I am NOT shipping this car. I WILL help load and have the car ready if you decide to have someone come pick it up. The interior is in need of a redo as it is over 40 years old and shows it. ALL the glass is good and there arent any cracks anywhere. The car does also have ladderbars underneath. It was a mild street racer in the early 80's due to the steep posi gears. Any other questions, please feel free to email. On Jul-16-12 at 13:32:07 PDT, seller added the following information:The picture of the guages was taken when the car was running to show that it holds great oil pressure and the temp guage works as well. Alot of people have asked for the trim tag and a few other questions. The trim/cowl tag reads as such 1ST line... ST 70 34477 G 12666 BDY. 2ND LINE... TR 937 19 19 PNT. 3RD LINE... 09C. The odometor on the car is currently showing 18,143. Most likely tripped already. The front seats do need recovered. All lights work, even interior works. This car can be driven around easily when it comes time to load it. Thanks again to all.
