Vehicle Detail
This is a 1979 MGB V-8 conversion. The motor inside is a 1962 Olds 215 that was rebuilt by Abbacus Racing. It has oversized high compression pistons. It was bored over .040. When I had the motor rebuilt everything was replaced with newer up to date items. It has a new cam factory specs, new crank, new bearings upper lower, new high performance push rods and lifters. The oil pump is a new high flow oil pump. The seals are neoprene not rope. The heads where rebuilt with high performance valves and springs. The motor has a warranty still on it for the next 6 months. The only thing that was reused in it where the connecting rods, however they where reconditioned. The fuel delivery system is a edlebrock 500cc card 4 barrel. With an oversized air filter for better cooling and performance. It is a spectra lifetime filter. The cooling system is all new and updated with a high flow water pump, two fans one electric and one blade motor driven. The rad is an oversized aluminum built for the b by D&D. It runs at about 165- 185 depending on the ambient temp. The hood scoop was made for better air flow and cooling on the motor it was a must for the car. The ignition system is a full MSD ignition including wires. I run the best plugs in it. It has about 225-250 (on the low end at 4,500 rpm)horse power depending on ambient temp. It gets about 15-20 miles per gallon depending on driving conditions. It was dyno'd at 0-60 in 3.653 seconds top speed I don’t know what that is I have never gunned it or opened it up fully. The motor only has about 600 miles on it so the rings have not even seated yet. It does not burn oil nor have any other issues it is sound and built for performance by the best builders in va. The Trans is a T-5 fully rebuilt with a warranty manual 5 speed. It has a high performance Ram clutch with a hydraulic throw out bearing. Also a brand new clutch master cylinder and new lines. The wiring on the entire car is brand new and up to date, to include new fuses type two slaves like you find in new vehicles. All the electronics where replaced the alt is a chrome gm high output alt to a max deep cell oversized battery, the starter is a brand new high torque starter . The brake system is a high performance vented slotted front brakes the master cylinder is brand new and the brake booster is also brand new. The brake lines are stainless braided in front and all the other lines are new and updated. The rear diff is from a Gt I do not know the gear ratio I do know that at 65-70 mph the car runs at 2,000- 2,225 rpm. So there was never a reason to spend the 2,500.00 on a new rear end. It has the power speed and torque to get you in trouble. J The entire fuel system is new and updated from the tank to the pump and lines. I think that about does it for the powertrain as far as the body and other things…. The windshield was replaced about 2 years ago, as also the vent windows. All the lights to include the plinths and light covers are brand new from Moss. There is not a single pit in any of the chrome on the car. The seats where redone about 3 years ago and also the interior with all leather. The seats where rebuilt down to the clips that hold the leather. The foam is a more comfy longer lasting foam. The floor pans, rocker panels, deck lid, truck floor where all replaced and made stiffer and stronger for the added HP for the motor to avoid body flex. They where all professionally welded not spot welded. Most of the instruments where replaced such as fuel gauge, Temp sensor, oil pressure gauge, and speedo. The car has ac yet is in not in the car to save on gas and well ya just don’t need it J. The pedals where custom made they are 420 stainless with aluminum pads. I was the first to do it and then moss picked up on it. The top is a sun fast cabrio top. Not vinyl I did not like the look of that. The radio is a pioneer cd player 6 speaker system with a kenwood amp it sounds great even at speed. The suspension is full racing front and rear. With spax all around. The only issue with the car is well the other day my son and I where driving it and the pass windshield wiper flew off I was like (uh oh) and I have not replaced it yet. The paint scheme is fully custom the side MGB strip is not a decal it is painted on with a metallic black same as the racing strips. There is not a single bit of bondo on the car it was dent worked and steel worked and repainted to what I wanted. The car was built for me it is a one off. I love the car but love my family more and right now we just need to sell it I just hope it goes to a good home. I have garage kept it all its life. I have invested about 30,000 in it never thought I would even try to sell it, yet as we all know children are very expensive and I can always build another one. Thank you for looking at my vehicle if you bid and win please take care of her if you have any questions now or after I will answer them and if any problems arise I will remedy them for you. I know that car in and out.
