This is a Beautiful, Garage Kept, Fully Optioned, Ever Popular, Black on Tan SHO with the 3.4 Litre Dual Overhead Cam 32 ValveV8 Engine with Dual Stage Induction and Direct Port Fuel Injection and a Four Speed Overdrive Automatic Transmission. This car is very clean inside and out. It has a few scratches and chips as would be expected but the Deep Shiny Black Paint really looks great for its age. The Factory Chrome 16 inch wheels have little to no brake dust stains and have no apparent curb rash at all. The headlights are still clear and the tail lights are still bright red with no apparent fading. The All Leather Interior show little to no wear and the material is still very soft and supple. The dashboard has NO cracks or obvious sun damage and shows NO noticeable fading. This car is also equipped with the Bose Mach Series Surround Sound System with a factory multi-disc CD changer in the trunk. This sound system was one of the very best that any auto manufacturer offered in this year. It rivaled that of the Cadillac of that year which was the best that GM had to offer. The tires on this car are almost new and have excellent deep tread. The exhaust system has been modified with Rousch Racing performance mufflers with nicely aggressive yet complimenting stainless steel tips. The car does not seem to have any accident damage that I can detect. All body panels are aligned properly and all body seems appear to be equally consistent. All four doors open and close smoothly and with little effort. All door hinges appear to be tight. There doesn’t appear to be any variations in the paint so this leads me to believe it is an accident free car but I have only owned this car for a year so please, by all means check it out for yourself. The Bad: The engine in this car has locked up. After checking all of the fluids and noting that all are full and don’t appear to be very dirty, including the motor oil, I have concluded that it is probable that one or more of the cam timing gears has slipped on the camshaft causing the valves to collide with the piston in one or more cylinders. If this is the case it is often possible to replace the damaged valves and camshaft and the engine will run as good as it ever did. In a worst case scenario the engine would have to be replaced. I did note that there is no oil in the antifreeze nor is there any antifreeze in the oil and the oil is fairly clean and shows no signs of metal flakes. Another reason that I believe the lockup to be due to a cam timing problem rather than a bearing, rod, piston, crankshaft or head gasket failure. This car has what I believe to be EVERY Option that was available in this year!!! All of the electrical features and options on this car appear to work as new. The sound system never sounded better!! All door and window seals are in great shape with little to no sun damage!! I purchased this car to save it from the crusher! It is too nice of a car to just let it be destroyed. I had fully intended to repair or replace the engine and enjoy it myself but due to economic reasons and the fact that I have too many projects on my plate right now I have decided to part with the car. So in an effort to keep this car from deteriorating any further I believe it best to sell it to someone that is looking for a great project car with allot of class, unlimited potential and will be an absolutely wonderful car to drive. Because of the SHO ground effects and spoilers this car still looks very stylish, sporty and current plus has all of the luxury features that you could ever want in a Sport Sedan.I have been a big fan of the Ford SHO ever since it was introduced in 1989 when I bought my first one brand new. The SHO out-performed every Sport Sedan in those first years and did it with comparable luxury and style. In-fact, though never advertised as such, the SHO even out-performed its own brethren and Ford’s pinnacle sports car the Mustang GT 5.0. I know this for a fact because I bought new and still own an 89 SHO and to this day it will still out-perform a Mustang GT of that era. In 1992 the GEN2 SHO wash rolled out which was a bit heavier and had some body styling changes. In 1994 the GEN 2 SHO was changed a bit by offering an automatic transmission for the first time. Then in 1996 the GEN 3 SHO was rolled out with a completely new look and for the first time a V8 engine that was based again on a Yamaha design but built by Ford. By 1998 most options became standard on all SHO’s with the exception of the leather seats, sound system and moon roof to name a few. Color options were also very limited and Black was by far the most popular color. And for good reason, it makes this car stand out and be noticed in a crowd.
