You are bidding on a vintage and rare 1953 Buick Special Convertible. This rare and highly collectible classic convertible runs, drives and is definitely an eye-catcher! This car has what I understand is the factory original 263 CU (125HP) InLine 8 engine with a 3-speed manual transmission on the column. It has the original 6 volt electrical system. The car odometer shows 2017 miles on it. Please do not bid on this car if you do not intend to buy it. Also, please ask questions and inspect car way in advance and before bidding. It is highly encouraged that you come see it in person. So, please if you win, don't ask to inpect after the auction close. This convertible is a nice driver and looks great. The car needs body and paint work but is definitely a 10-15 footer. The body has paint peel, scuffs, scratches and a couple of dings. The undercarriage has rust, and the frame has surface rust. Essentially, the car needs a complete restoration if the new owner wants a show class, perfect car. And, since this is almost a 60 year old car with all original mechanical and electrical components, your mechanic should go through the car to make sure it meets the new owner’s requirements and expectations. The car is complete and has all the original body trim, moldings, chrome and fenders skirts. It also has wide whitewall tires and original Buick hubcaps/wheel covers. It comes with a factory tire jack, spare wheel with wide white tires and Buick hubcap wheel cover. The convertible tops works great manually. The hydraulic cylinders, motor and lines are intact but are disconnected. The convertible top components should be replaced. The right side passenger window and rear quarters have cracks. I have located the glass and it is inexpensive in case the new owner wishes to replace the glass. The car has a brand new, just installed, black canvas (not vinyl) convertible top with zippered back window and brand new convertible top weather stripping. The car also has a new battery, transmission and engine mounts. The interior is in beautiful condition with no tears. Payment in full is required within 72 hours of the auction close in the form of a cashier’s check drawn from a major U.S bank, bank wire transfer or direct bank deposit. Funds must clear my bank before the car is released. Out of state cashier’s transactions take longer to clear. Shipping is the responsibility of the new owner. I will work with the new buyer with all shipping arrangements and pick up schedule.
