Vehicle Detail
This car was found in a salvage yard. It had a rust free tub. She was to be Polo Red. I like green. Now its not perfect, there is some bondo here and there, and not all the parts are from a 67. The motor is a 1.8 type 4 with duel 40's. the tranny is from a 911. The heat exchangers are VW 412 with a VW bus empi exhaust. The seats have some wear, and from a 72. The doors are from a later model, new carpet, all new brakes, tires, suspension bushings, The Fuch's are copies and the list goes on.... The issues... Right front fender has some hail damage, Second gear grinds if shifted fast Seats are worn Armature paint job, good 20'er Aftermarket wiring harness (I think good, the old was 45 yrs old) I drive it when I can, but Central TX. is to hot, and Really, it's time for a change, a new project/toy. On Jul-01-12 at 08:05:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, the wiper switch has a dead spot, to shut them off, you need to find it. but, it never rains in TX, and i never drive in the rain. LOL and the ignition switch is aftermarket, The original one was shot. Thanks. On Jul-05-12 at 05:00:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had a few questions about driving it across the country. "Would I drive it across country" the answer is NO. First off there's no A/C, It's 45 yrs old, Things break on old cars, and where would you find parts if it did. Trailer it. It weighs 2200#. I trailered it to Porsche Palooza in AR. with my 1/2 ton truck, it on my 16' trailer. It was fine, still cruised at 70mph all day long. And questions on the "wiring" A Porsche harness was like $2000., An "EZ" wiring was like $250. Wire is wire. Takes electricity from "A" to "B". And lets face it, a 45 yr old harness is unsafe as hell. And this takes the the mini blade fuses, available anyplace. I've never blown a fuse yet, in two yrs. This is not a "Purest" car. It's a take out and play car. It has flaws, it's not perfect. But when your sitting at a red light, and all you get are "thumbs up" from other folks. Priceless. I'm cleaning out my collection, and this and one other car are to go (87 944NA) That's the only reason it's on the block. Thanks again.
