Vehicle Detail

This is an extremely clean version of Porsche's gorgeous and fast 944 Turbo. Modified by the previous owner to be a PCA-track day/HPDE car, modifications include various LIndsay racing parts and controls including a chip upgrade, pistons/rings, coil-over rear suspension, adjustable front camber plates, Sparco seats with 6 point racing belts, roll bar (NOT a cage), Momo steering wheel, short shifter, racing brake pads, camera mount, and more. I purchased the car little over a year ago when the car had a blown head gasket and later we found damage to one cylinder wall which required the cylinders to be bored oversize and new pistons installed. The engine was rebuilt by a long-time 924/944 racer/specialist, block and head were decked, all parts were inspected and replaced if there was any doubt as to their condition. New clutch installed. Car originally came from California so no rust, CarFax shows zero accidents and is in excellent condition with only lightly faded paint on the hood, to be expected on a 26 year old car. I bought the car intending to build it into a full race car to run in Midwestern Council events, circumstances (I discovered small formula cars) will prevent that from happening and the car needs a new home. The car IS street legal, the cat is still installed so it should pass any emissions test. As of this moment I do not know exactly what springs/bars and shocks are on the car other than the front bar is 30mm and the rear bar is 20mm in diameter. I believe the shock are Bilsteins and the spring collars are adjustable. The A/C is still installed but does not work and the heater control valve does not respond to changing the temperature adjustment. Tires are Toya Proxas with about 75% tread left. The majority of the paint is in excellent condition except for the hood which has two minor dents and is faded and needs polishing to restore the gloss. This car is FAST and fun. Since the engine was rebuilt the car has made the run from the western Chicago 'burbs up to Road America with zero problems. This is a truly awesome dual-purpose car with Porsche style, power and handling in an inexpensive package. This car can be calmly driven on the street and it will fly on the race track. The car can be viewed at Mr. Jims Automotive on Rt. 59 in Warrenville.
