Vehicle Detail
This is a beautiful and well maintained '89 Dodge Dynasty LE 3.0 V6 with overhead cam, and has been in my family since new. It was a demo model so has all the available options, including heated mirrors and the Infinity sound system, power windows, power mirrors, power seats, and power locks that automatically lock at 15mph+. The original cassette deck has been replaced with an in-dash 3 CD changer and cassette deck. Vehicle History: My father bought it new and had regular maintenance performed, then drove it to Ohio to give to my grandmother in '98. He had the motor rebuilt just before he gave it to her and the car had 120,000 miles at that time. She drove it regularly but not very often, and during this time it was repainted the original color. She stopped driving a few years ago and I went to Ohio and drove it back to Texas, where I drove it occasionally as an extra car. I am a mechanic and now have 5 cars, so I'm finally parting with this one. The odometer stopped counting milage while in Ohio, so I estimate ~135,000 total miles, which would be 15,000 miles on the rebuilt motor, and 1,500 miles on the transmission which I had rebuilt a year and a half ago by a transmission only shop (Carter's Transmissions in Austin TX, I can probably find the receipt somewhere). It has the computer controlled shifting transmission and Carters performed the dealer advised update. Over the past two years I have replaced some things as necessity and others as preventative maintenance. These things include water pump, timing belt, fuel pump and filter, brake master cylinder, front struts (MacPherson type), radiator, modified the radiator cooling fan to engage sooner and stay on longer to keep the temperature under 220 degrees (as stock the fan would engage later and put undue heat stress on the motor) and all new Firestone tires. There are a few minor issues, the air conditioning stopped working while it was in Ohio, and since my grandmother never drove in the rain and Texas has just come out of the worst drought in it's recorded history, the windshield wipers work sporadically. The front seats have some upholstery damage so have seat covers on them, and the rear seats have a couple splits. The headliner is starting to come down in the back so has been stapled up. This has been a good car, gets good gas mileage, and I really miss the white cornering lights that come on with the turn signal and light the area to the side of the car during turns. I wish more cars had those. I have done my best to give as much information as possible, and will be happy to answer any questions bidders may have, but with a vehicle of this age there is no warranty or returns, this is an as-is auction. The vehicle is also being advertised locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Thanks, good luck and happy bidding.
