Vehicle Detail
Hi folks, Up for grabs is a beautiful Tornado Red 2005 VW Golf GLS TDi that has been well maintained. I routinely get 575-600 mi on a $50 or less fill up with mixed city and highway driving yielding an average of 44mpg. Only 2 owners including myself. I am a huge diesel nut, and german car nut, having owned several vw and mercedes diesel cars of varying vintages. MECHANICAL: The 1.9L PD engine is in great shape and is very torquey and peppy. Shifts crisply through all the gears. The car is in great shape mechanically with recent service as follows - At 71k mi, I replaced the timing belt, water pump and outer tensioner. At the same time, new front Bilstein struts were placed. $1200 - At 67k mi, drive belt and sepentine belt replaced. - In the past 10k mi, the clutch and throw out bearing were replaced at a cost of $1900 EXTERIOR: Beautiful Tornado Red paint is in very good shape, with a very nice luster to it. - NO RUST or flood issues. NO Oxidation. - Windshield is in great shape. - 15 inch factory wheels in good shape. Michelins have 50-60% front tread and about 40% rear tread. - OEM splash guards in great shape. - There are some small scratches and scuffs around the bumpers and several small scratches that have been touched up on the passenger front door. - There are several shallow dings on the passenger rear door and front fender. INTERIOR: Grey cloth interior is in good shape without any rips or tears. Rear seats were barely used. - GLS trim with Moonroof. - Heavy duty rubber mats in good shape. - Glove box is in good shape. The center console hatch is broken but stays in place. - Headliner has a small rip in it, with a small sag in the rear. - Small scratches in the plastic molding by the rear doors and along the C-pillar fabric. In summary, you are getting a well kept example of a very fuel efficient car in a desirable configuration. It will provide years of inexpensive motoring bliss given the amount of recent work done. You will be saving yourself several thousand dollars with the major mechanical items addressed. Be realistic in your expectations and you will not be disappointed. It is 7 years old and not new, so some wear should be expected. Feel free to contact me with any questions - (504)957-9636 Thanks
