Vehicle Detail
This truck has been restored to near factory original equipment and style and includes new tires, new window seals, new glass, new headlining and new vinyl seat and rubber floor mat. A tasteful amount of chrome has been added, and the wood bed lining is recent and in excellent condition. All restoration work was performed by the previous owner at least three years ago. The truck has been kept in a garage, protected from the weather, and driven occasionally, usually to exhibit at classic car shows or for the once-in-a-while pleasure ride. An evaluation of the quality of the finish would likely be classified as "Driver". It is nice enough to show, but not a trophy winner. The flathead V-8 engine burns a small amount of oil, blows blue smoke, has low compression in one cylinder, but runs well. Most of the electrics are 6-volt with the exception being a second, 12-volt battery for the starter. Auxiliary gauges have been added to display fuel level and oil pressure level. Original temperature gauge actuates but is not accurate. The cooling system has been completely redone within the last three years -- new core for the radiator, acid flush, new twin water pumps, temperature sending units (2) and thermostats (2). Hoses are recent and in good condition. Transmission is 3-speed column shift. Odometer works and reads in the mid 60,000 range, but it is unknown if it has rolled over. The windshield wipers are vacuum driven and do not work.
