Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 2000 Dodge Intrepid that is not running. I purchased this car three years ago to fix up for my daughter. I drove it home, parked it, never got around to fixing it up, and bought her another car. The Dodge Intrepids were well known to have an oil sludge problem on the 2.7L engine, which this one has. When it cranks, it has a loud knocking noise coming from the engine, so you should expect to either rebuild or replace the engine. After only being cranked a couple of times in the last three years, it will need a battery, probably a set of tires (one is low currently), and probably an AC recharge at the very least, although I cannot verify that the air works even if charged. The interior is in fair shape, with no real wear on the seats. It does have a panel under the steering wheel that hangs down a couple of inches. Outside, there is a pretty good dent on top of the right front fender well (pictured). There is also a tear about 3 inches long in the rear bumper that looks like it came from backing into a trailer hitch. I am throwing in the Chilton manual I bought to fix it up. Again, since I did not crank it but a couple of times, I cannot verify any of the systems on the car. I have tried to be as descriptive as possible with the issues on it. Other than the two dents I've described, the car does look pretty good, inside and out. It is sold as-is, with no warranty or guarantees, express or implied. While the car may crank (it did about two months ago), it is not driveable on the road, so plan on picking it up on a trailer. I gladly accept PayPal, cashier's check, or money order. It may be fixed up to be a good car, but it will need some work. I will be avaiable to meet you to pick up the car after 5/28. Once you have left the required deposit, we will arrange the date for picking up the car. There is no reserve on the car, so highest bid wins. Serious bidders only, please. Happy bidding!
