Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford Mustang. 390 motor, automatic transmission. This car was originally a 289. It is a California car so it is rust free except for a few minor spots. It has a clean title and is currently non opped so there are no back fees I have too many cars so I am selling this one. It will be a great project for someone to start or finish. Engine/Transmission: 390 motor. 3 speed automatic transmission. I bought the car with the engine and transmission already in it. The guy I got it from said it was from a T Bird and it had about 80K on it was his estimate but I cant verify this. It runs good. It could probably use a tune up (oil/plugs/wires/filtertiming,carb adjustments/etc) but it runs good as is and there are no problems, I am just saying you might want to do that to get it running perfect. It hasnt been registered since 2006. When I got it last year it had been sitting since then. It is now more drivable but it still needs some more work to be a daily driver. You could if you had to, but it still could use some bugs worked out. It is a 45 year old car and it hasnt really been driving too much in about 6 years. The engine is strong and starts up and sounds good with no noises or leaks. It has a lot of power and easily spins the non posi white wall tire. It has a holley carburator and edelbrock intake. It has a recent radiator, carburator rebuild, gas tank. It has a new battery, alternator, starter solenoid, voltage regulator, radiator cap. The transmission works good in all the gears and feels strong. It does have a leak which I believe is coming from the pan gasket. It is not bad and you dont have to add fluid that much, but it does leave a little spot in the driveway after a while and sometimes i see a little smoke from the exhaust if it drips on it. Nothing bad at all. It is drivable as is. But Im sure it could use a new gasket, filter and fluid. it is possible the leak could be coming from the tail shaft seal, which is another inexpensive fix. I just dont have time to fix it right now. For someone looking for a 67 mustang this is a really cool one to start with. It already has the big motor in it and runs good. Brakes/Suspension: It has factory front disc brakes and rear drums. It has a new master cylinder and power booster. It stops but still needs some work. I bled the brakes but they still are a little grabby and probably could use some adjustments or new parts in there somewhere. But you can drive it and it stops and there are no leaks. The suspension is original. It was a V8 car originally (289). The 390 is a little heavier and I dont think they did anything to compensate that when they put it in. So it probably could use some springs unless you like it sitting lower in the front. It rides fine... like a old car. It is not a new car at all so you will hear the windows rattle and the body and stuff here and there. It has traction bars and air shocks in the back. The power steering works good and has no leaks. Rims/Tires: it has the stock 14 inch steel wheels with aftermarket original style hubcaps that look good. It has white wall tires. They are 185/75/14 in the front and, 195/75/14 in the back. It has the original 5 lug. It is a non posi traction rear end. Exterior: The body overall is very straight. It has a few little dings on the top (see video and pics). It has the gt hood with the scoops. The previous owner tried to put hood pins in which he did kind of sloppy and could use some work (see video and pics). It doesn't need pins and the latch works fine. The hood has some chips on it and could use a little work in some spots (see video and pics). Both sides of the car behind the door where it has the side grills have both have a hole drilled in it because the previous owner had a different style scoop on the side. The paint is all one color and looks good from a few feet away. From up close it isnt all that and has a lot of imperfections but at least it is all one color and doesn't look bad. You should not be buying this car for the paint, haha. It has a lot of bubbles, chips, scratches , pretty much all over the car. If you watch the video I will point them out and also check out the pics I will do my best to show all of them, at least the big ones. But like I said, you arent buying this car for the paint. For a 46 year old car the body is in great shape and very straight. It will need a little work here and there but nothing serious. It has a little bit of rust on the passenger side quarter panel around the wheel well but that is the worst of it. Other than that spot there are a couple real little spots starting to bubble in the corner of the doors a little bit (see video and pics) but again nothing major at all. You can still use all the metal that is on the car and you will not need to get any panels replaced. The floors are solid overall. The driver side has a little rust but nothing that cant be repaired easy if desired. You can still use the floor pan. The passenger side has had a patch put in it and is rust free but probably could be cleaned up to look a little bit better. The floors under the rear seat are good with no rust as is the trunk floor. In the first video I made, I may have said there was no rust but that was before I looked under it. So there is a very small amount. I replaced the carpet and when I did I didnt see any problems with the floors from up top and they feel very solid so I assumed there was no rust but there is a small couple bubbles. Basically no rust! This is a California car its whole life so rust is not an issue you have to worry about. Except for missing a few trim pieces (around the front and back window, wipers, around the grill) this car is pretty much complete. It has new door locks. The front bumper has a little bend in it but not really. Still looks good. The lights work but it might need a new head light. The reverse lights arent hooked up. Interior: The seats are original style, Im not sure if they are from a 67 or not but they look good. The guy I got the car from said they were from a 66 I think. They are black and in good shape. I repainted all the metal parts of the door panel black. It has new door panels, new window and door cranks (front and rear), turn signal lever, e brake handle, door locks, carpet, floor mats, dash mat, kick panels, door sill trim, armrests (in trunk not installed, I dont have the screws). It comes with a new headliner (not installed) and original style trunk floor mat (which I didn't put in because I felt the trunk could be cleaned up a little better and I didn't want to get it dirty right away). It also has new trunk weatherstripping. The front windshield is cracked. The rest of the windows are in good shape. The front ones go up and down with the cranks. The rear ones arent hooked up to the cranks and you can put them up and down with your hand. The mechanism for one of the rear windows is in a box in the trunk and the other window is hooked up I just didn't put it on the track yet. The dash is cracked but looks good with the new mat on it. The gauge cluster plastic piece is broken around where the radio would go and where it connects to the other side of the dash. All the gauges work. The driver side door has a little closing issue, probably a spring or something in the lock mechanism. To get the door to latch closed you have to put the door lock down (you can either close it and lock it, or pull the lock back up and close it, but the lock has to go down before it will latch closed. I dont know why, I havent had time to deal with it or any of the other little stuff left to do on this car. If I had time I would fix all this little stuff, anything it will need is inexpensive and easy to fix. Title/Registration: Clean California title on non operational status so there will be no back fees. Payment: $300 non refundable down payment due within 24 hours through paypal after the auctions end. This is to let me know you are serious and are buying the car. The balance is to be paid before or when the car is picked up. Buyer will handle shipping. I can assist by meeting the truck somewhere close to my house when the shipper gets near me. I have sold cars on ebay before and have had no problems. Serious buyers only please! I accept cash, paypal, money order and possibly bank wire transfer. If you are interested and thinking of buying it and have any questions let me know so we can be on the same page. I would like the car to be picked up within 3 weeks of the auctions end. If you think it would be longer than that for some reason please contact me first. If you have any questions email me at calioak510@aol.com . Thanks and good luck bidding!
