This auction is for a 1997 Honda Accord V6 Sedan. This car is not running! I was driving home and heard noise coming from the pulley area of the engine. It was a rattling sound. It didn't sound good but I just figured the bearings on a pulley were wearing out or something.... I did not make it home. I was driving 60 Mph when: The car lost power, the check engine light went on and I smelled rubber burning. Pulled over immediately and towed it to the mechanic. When they took the timing belt cover off they found that the timing belt was pretty much completely disintigrated and melted. There is shredded melted twisted timing belt everywhere. This car is an interference engine. This means that if the timing belt breaks there is a good chance that the valve stems or something else were damaged. The timing belt melted and shredded at 60 mph. People say that the engine is most likely ruined but it was not confirmed by the mechanic. I told them to stop working on the car. The belt wheels are covered with hard crusty melted rubber.... It looks like a mess. Please assume that the engine is no good. The car has some scuffs on the bumpers. The passenger side front signal light lens is broken. The hood took a bump and got crimped. The crease in the hood has gone unrepaired for some years and the cracks show signs of rust. Although the hood took a bump and looks ugly, it opens and closes fine. Interior is good. Tires good. Some other dings on the side please look at photos carefully. 134,730 miles. Radio DOES NOT WORK. A real pity. I hope someone can do something with this car. Local pickup only. I cannot deliver or drive this vehicle. Bring a tow truck or call AAA to take this car out of my driveway.
