Vehicle Detail

1968 Barracuda Convertible Body: An original Sunfire Yellow 1968 Barracuda convertible. The right fender is in very good condition needing only a small lower patch. The fender looks straight and clean. The fender jamb is not rusted out. The right front frame rail and torsion bar cross member are clean, with no visible rust-out, scale or evidence of old wreck damage. The right rocker is straight, with no significant dents or rust-out. The right quarter panel has a few dings and the typical lower rust and a little rust in the trunk jamb. The trunk lid has no rust-out but has a dent visible in pictures. The trunk trim, visible in picture is included in this dent. The center trunk floor is exceptionally nice as is all of the convertible top bracketry. The trunk extensions are clean on top but lower sections are rusted out. The left quarter panel has lower rust and a few small dings. The rear frame rails are spotless, no scale, thick spots, factory undercoated and in very good shape. The 8 3/4 rear is also in excellent condition with new brakes and one of the cleanest pit-free housings around! The left rocker and door are in very good shape with only the normal dings, no visible rust-out. The left fender has only a few small pin holes in the lowest portion behind the front tire. The left frame rail and torsion bar cross member are as clean as the other 3 rails. When you pull the carpet back, the driver's and passenger floor pans have some rust scale. There are no holes but I am sure when wire wheeled there will probably be some pin holes. From the bottom the floor pans look great with their factory undercoating. The hood is straight and clean. Mechanical: The 318 has aftermarket intake, carb, ignition, valve covers, and headers. It is locked up presumably from sitting. The last inspection was in 1987. There is a 727 transmission with clean fluid and an open 8 3/4 rear. The car has recently had a complete brake job with new drums. It is by no means a basket case but assume that most everything will need some attention. Interior: This car is equipped with bucket seats, console, auto on floor, and rally gauges. The door panels are a bit rough but everything else is in good shape. The dash pads are not cracked. The seat covers are worn but have no major tears or rips. Everything is intact. The electric convertible top works and shows little to no wear and would not need to be replaced. The vinyl back window is in good shape with no yellowing. Miscellaneous: With the Sunfire Yellow paint, black bucket seat interior and a nice little small block engine, this car would be a ton of fun. It is missing no major parts and would be an easy restoration with the only major body work being quarter panel and trunk extension repair. It is very solid for 1968 convertible Barracuda!
