Vehicle Detail

This is a solid, sturdy 2004 Pontiac Sunfire that would make a great "starter car" for anyone who needs something dependable to drive around NYC! I am the original owner and have used it to commute to work. No one has ever smoked in it, and the inside is neat and tidy. It does have a few dings and dents, but it has survived NYC driving and street parking all in one piece and has gotten every needed tuneup and inspection. There's nothing particularly fancy about this car, but it will do everything you need. The windows and locks are old-school manual ones, and the seatbelts in the back seats don't work too well. It also has a very slight rattle due to old bushings but those are easy and inexpensive to replace. But here are some cool things it does have: * am/fm stereo with cd player* automatic sunroof* temporary spare tire in the trunk* working and powerful air conditioning and heat* tilt-adjustable steering wheel* interior hood release*fog lamps*rear defroster*cupholders*cloth upholstery*center console/armrest This car has NEVER broken down or overheated--in the eight years I've had it, it has performed admirably. Sure, the outsides are a little banged up. But the insides are strong and dependable. Nothing fancy, but it will get you where you need to go and keep you safe.On Jun-21-12 at 10:47:04 PDT, seller added the following information: ****NEW NOTE**** A few people have asked about the Indiana plates so I wanted to explain: This is my mother's car. She bought it in Indiana and most of the milage comes from when she used the car there. A few years ago she came to stay with my husband and I in NYC for health reasons and she brought the car with her. We kept the car on Indiana registration and insurance because we didn't use the car very much and had hoped that my mom would recover enough to eventually return to Indiana. We've recently been faced with the reality that my mother is in NYC to stay and are at the point where we would have to switch over to NYC registration and insurance. The extra expense of that doesn't make much sense for a car we basically only use on the weekends at this point which is why we decided to sell. Since my mother moved to NYC, we have rarely used the car for street driving in the city (although we did park it on the street for a year which is where the dings come from). I used the car to commute to a job in Westchester Co. for 6 months last year and my husband used it to commute to a job in New Jersey for two months this past spring. Neither of us had a single problem or breakdown. For the last year we've kept the car in a parking garage instead of parking it on the street. **************** This is a solid, sturdy 2004 Pontiac Sunfire that would make a great "starter car" for anyone who needs something dependable to drive around NYC!
