Just got back from Base Coat Clear Coat Bright Yellow paint & bodywork. I haven't found a new rubber gasket so I haven't put the windshield back on it yet. Some of the pix are of the Manx prior to new paint, but the windshield is there so you can see how it looks. The old style rear lights have been removed, body re-glassed and new recessed style lights are now installed. Full body has been block sanded to take out small imperfections prior to application of three Coats of 2K primer/sealer applied to body prior to paint job. Also has a snap top from the windshield to the top of the chrome roll bar. Seat belts up front none in back seat. Hook eyelets are mounted in the rear seat area to attach tie downs for coolers and stuff. It's a blast out here because you can drive to Lake Mead and then go off road down to the lake. Still have to detail the other tires just ran out of time. Arizona title mileage 10,297. That's not reality! New set of grey seat covers still in box. Had new link pin front end parts put in to tighten up front end. Tires are in good shape. Wheels are nice but not perfect. Tachometer stopped working. I think it's the wire that came off the coil. I got ZAPPED when I touched it back to the coil. I'm no mechanic. Manx runs great and the transmission shifts smoothly. Brakes work fine. Gas gauge works good until 1/2 a tank is left, then it reads almost empty, but it's not. Speedometer, alternator and oil pressure gauges all work properly. "The Manx is titled as a road worthy dunebuggy (legal to drive on hwys) in the state of az which was done in 1981. Ebays system would only let me list it as a 79 due to their system. You might want to check with your local department of motor vehicle to see how you go about registering this vehicle for the road. The still has the orginal vw pan vin number which is 2602830 which is an august of 1959 chassis and next to a az mvd official tag next to the original vin.(metal sticker) Sorry for the confusion .
