This is a 1981 Mercedes Benz 380SL convertible. Just in time for Summer fun. It has a current Virginia Inspection and is being sold with no reserve. The 3.8L eight cylinder engine drives along without a miss or smoke. The automatic transmission shifts in all gears. The transmission has the usual delay when shifting into reserve. The brakes, steering and suspension seem fine. The exterior is a glossy silver. It appears to have been repainted at some point. There are no major dings or dents. We have a hard top that is not in the best condition. The blue soft top does not leak but there is a patch over the driver's head (see pic). The tires, on aftermarket wheels, have about 50% tread (see pic). No windshield chips or cracks. There is a rust spot above the right rear taillight (see pic). The power antenna works. The lights and lenses are bright with no cracks. The interior is blue carpet and leather seats. The carpets are clean. There are Mercedes floor mats in the trunk. The driver seat has a small rip in the middle (see pic). All other seats are in good condition. The power locks and windows work. The AC is cold but the blower motor is not working. There is a Panasonic CD player. The driver seat belt does not latch. The accelerator works but the peddle is broken. The gas guage is stuck on half tank. The odometer is stuck on 91934. This is a fun Summer car that can be driven today or you can wait until someone handy can correct these little items. If you are expecting a fully restored 380SL keep looking. The 380SL is being sold by a Maryland Used Car Dealer.
