Vehicle Detail
1972 Plymouth 'Cuda w/70 Conversion! Originally a 2-Fender tag Real BS23 340 'Cuda. All parts included (except Roadlamps) to finish the Cosmetic conversion to a '70 'Cuda. Semi-typical case here where I had NO plans of selling, but made the executive decision to put it out there as it moved from my garage to long-term storage and I don't see being able to finish anytime soon as I would have to pay someone else to do it as my health (arthritis) won't allow me to finish myself. However, keep in mind this isn't a "fire sale", I don't need to sell, not desperate, so please reserve your low offers for someone else. Additionally, please keep opinions to yourself should you feel the need to talk down my conversion project. I know it was a real 340 'Cuda. I wanted a '70 more than a '72, so I started the conversion instead of paying 2-3x as much for a done/real '70 vs a done '72 converted. Sorry, I have to add that right off the bat for the few that ruin things for the many. I love Mopars, but purist Mopar guys or people who want something for nothing will get rude, insulting and childish when I don't accept their low offers. With that said, here's the fun stuff: 2-Fender tag A/C 340 BS23 'Cuda - yes, I have both Fender tags! Body: Clean original Floorpans & doors. Floorpans retain original GB5 paint with only light rust coloration and surface rust in small spots (see pics). Doors are solid with a couple dime-size spots right at rear corner of door. The rough-cuts have been done to the quarters and trunkpan for install of new '70 Qtr skins and full trunk pans and trunk extensions. I was fitting the pans & panels, they are not welded on. In fact, I planned on using Fusor epoxy for install. I will include the new Fusor kit if reserve is met. I soda-blasted the engine compartment and is ready for primer - I also have a new gallon Primer w/Reducer that I will include that will more than take care of priming the trunkpans/extensions/engine compartment/fenders/etc. The trunkpans and extensions have a light coat of primer to protect them from any corrosion (even though car is, and has been, in dry storage). Quarterskins are very good quality Goodmark panels. Roof is in good shape - some areas where paint is cracking at seams (car had one repaint to darker Jamaica blue), but roof is straight. Fenders are in good shape, DR fender is very solid would only need scuffed and blocksanded. Pass fender is from a '70 Barracuda and paint is checked and cracked and needs spot repaired on lower dogleg. I have 2 clean doglegs cut out from clean donor fenders you can fuse together. I also have a DR fender from the same 70 Barracuda that I will include with the sale - it is in same condition as the Pass fender. The engine compartment is extremely solid, no issues. I have a brand new AMD '70 tail panel ready to be fit and fused. I also purchased a new AMD trunk lid - but the corners need straightened (was dropped and bent the tips of the lid (the top of lid where it goes against the trunk rail closest to rear window panel). The rear window filler panel is solid, but I have a new one that was given to me and will include. Rocker panels are solid. Frame: Absolutely no issues here. Frame and K-frame are clean and solid. Rear framerails have surface rust, but very solid - no issues. The underside of the floorpans still have factory undercoating. Drivetrain: Engine has been completely and professionally rebuilt. $3600 worth of professional build, not a backyard re-gasket or change oil/respray block and call it 'rebuilt'. The build was just a notch above a stock rebuild, nothing radical. The engine is a 340 from a '69 or '70 'Cuda with a datecode build of 7-10-69. It was either late-build 69 or early build 70. Feel free to tell me, Mopar gurus - 2780930-340-5 stamped on side of block. The engine has 340 X heads. I have 340 intake also -datecode of 11-2-69, numbers look like 346284831. I have the original valve covers also. The intake shown in pics is a Weiand X-celerator Hi-rise 340 intake. I have an original Carter carb, but that needs rebuilt for sure - I had planned on a new Edelbrock carb. The valve covers are very nice NEW Polished Aluminum valve covers (not chrome). I don't have waterpump, alternator, fuel pump - I had planned on buying new anyway. I have all the original A/C components. Original 340 Air Cleaner included. BRAND NEW in box 3-row Aluminum racing radiator with dual electric fans. Trans is numbers-matching 727 for the car. Rear is an 8 & 3/4, gear ratio unknown. Factory sway bar. Interior: Interior is in fantastic original condition. I had thought it was redone when I saw it. The front bucket seats are supple and in perfect condition. The rear of DR seat back has a couple scuffs, not bad at all. The rear seats are in perfect condition and are also very supple, not stiff or will crack. (the front seats are pictured, the rear ones aren't). I found pieces of buildsheet under rear seats, & rear floorpan under carpet. I won't advertise as having buildsheet with just these pieces though. The center console is in great shape - top is perfect, the small plastic edge has one hairline crack only visible when you put pressure on it to see it. The T-handle slapstick is in great shape. The slapstick shifter assembly/mechanism is complete. The Rallye dash with Factory tach is in very good shape - slight cut for larger radio (ugh!-early 80s cassette players!). All the door panels, kick panels, armrests in great condition. Headliner is brand new. Sun visors are missing. All window cranks and door handles and door locks in good shape and work well. Dash has a very nice leather cover, it was put on back in the day I guess before dash caps came out. It looks very nice and has indentations for Barracuda emblem and dash VIN. Brand new in wrapper Rear Package tray. All wiring in tact and complete. Exterior: All glass is in great shape, no issues. All brightwork and trim in good shape and all there - Roof driprail and belt lip moldings, rear panel moldings, window trim. Brand new WHEEL LIP MOLDINGS still in wrapper. Brand new FISH-GILL ROCKER MOLDINGS still in box. All 'Cuda and Plymouth emblems included except tail panel Cuda emblem. The best exterior part of all: The SHAKER HOOD!! Fiberglass ShakerHood still in black gelcoat. Shaker Bubble with metal Shaker grille vents. Fiberglass Shaker base and air cleaner. Shaker seal, Shaker underhood decal, Shaker hoodsprings. Hood pin kit with gasket and lanyards. SHAKER HOOD is just IT for a 'Cuda! The 2nd best exterior part: the COMPLETE '70 grille assembly! When I say complete, I mean complete. Grille, Headlight bezels, the impossible to find Fog/driving lights - lenses have some cracks but very usable and better than most I have seen that aren't reproduction (price reproduction ones - ridiciulous money). All wiring, pigtails and connectors too!! (see pics). Grille is in very nice shape - no missing teeth or lines, has one hairline crack right at the very front center, will need repainted. Grille assembly still has the frame and header panel attached, but header panel top does need some straightening or replacement. I also have a brand NEW Go-Wing for a '70 with pedestals, still in wrapper. (all new stuff listed was only taken out of boxes/wrapper for pics) I have the original and correct exhaust tips for the cutout valance panel. In fact, I have an extra exhaust tip in very good shape. Brand new exterior door handles included (plus the original ones still on car). DR remote mirror, Pass manual mirror. Bumpers are straight, but would need re-chromed. Rallye wheels in GREAT shape, not original ones - these are from a 68 Roadrunner. Fronts are 14" with Stainless trim rings and 215/70/14 RWL tires - excellent tread. Rears are 15" with high polished trim rings and 255/70/15 Goodyear Eagle GTII tires - only 200 miles on them. I will have to check again, but I believe I still have the original '72 trunk lid & original '72 rear valance with cutouts. Missing/Needs(known....I am sure there is more I may miss): '70 Roadlamps (come off front bumper), engine accessories (mentioned earlier -waterpump, fuel pump, alternator, elec ignition box, relay, starter, etc), torque converter, fan shroud, exhaust, interior carpet. One wiper arm is bent. Door sill plates not in good condition. I am sure there are things I have missed or overlooked. I am not advertising this as complete, but will come with everything mentioned and probably more that I have forgot to mention. I will add things to auction as needed/inquired about. Well, there it is......finish what I started for probably 1/3 of what a '70 would cost! And for the purists, this can still be a '72 340 car - what I replaced with '70 parts needed replaced anyway (qtrs, fenders). The only things that werent necessary were the grille - the '72 grille is gone and sold, and the twin bulge hood that was sold - but a ShakerHood on ANY year would be cool. Rather not sell as just a '72 without all the '70 goodies for those who will ask unless the price is right, and I will sell the '70 items seperately. Bid like you want it and mean it. Please be serious and fully prepared to fund your purchase should you be the winning bidder. Zero feedback or new Ebay members' bids will be cancelled without extensive contact to prove intent. Speaking of contact, please keep requests and questions in Email form, especially for now. Emails are easy to keep track of and those who 'want me to call them' or 'want a contact number', understand I don't need spammers and scammers and solicitors getting my number and selling it and odd numbers ringing at all hours. (again I refer you to few spoiling things for the many, but these people are using Ebay and Craigslist like crazy, so no phone without extensive Emails of serious nature). Also, as much as I love Mopars and particularly 'Cudas, I don't want to spend enormous amounts of time talking about a Mopar or Cuda someone used to own or knew someone who did years ago. Unfortunately, people use phone numbers to chat rather than confirm and purchase. Ultimately, there is only one person I need to speak with on the phone - the new owner of this conversion project! Just trying to eliminate the people who aren't serious and are dreamers or have nothing better to do. I will go to a car show if I want to BS with other car guys. I put this on Ebay for a sale only at the right price, let's talk about how you will go about purchasing. Please Email questions, and like I said in the beginning, refrain from one-line Emails barking out a lowball offer - serious only please. Thanks! Will be happy to work with transporters, but since body panels and trunk pans etc aren't welded in and extra parts, it might be best for enclosed transport. Please bid only if you can fund your purchase - payment timelines will be adhered to!! (see pymt section for full details) Thanks for looking & GOOD LUCK!On May-27-12 at 15:19:38 PDT, seller added the following information: 'Cuda was a VA car, spent about 5 yrs in FL, then OH last 3 years.
