Vehicle history: I bought this 5.0 from the original owner about 2 years ago. It has only about 56,000 miles on it. The owner was a car guy, and he lovingly maintained this car. I was very excited to find this car as it was pretty amazing to find a black 5.0 with such a beautiful original paint job. The car has some mods on it, but everything is there to put it back to original, if that's what you want to do. Body & paint: This car has never been in an accident. The original black paint still looks fantastic. As you can see from the photos, when you look down the sides of the car it is perfectly straight. The only repair that's ever been done is that the top 1/2 of the driver's door was repainted. There are also swirls from polishing that can be seen only in bright, direct sunlight. All the body tags are in place. It's pretty amazing to find such an old car with original black paint that still looks almost like new. I just spent $750 having a full professional detail done on this car. Interior: The interior looks almost like new. There are just a few stains on the driver's seat (really not noticeable) and in the trunk carpeting. I just had it professionally detailed. Mechanical: Yes, I do have the original engine, and it performed great before I pulled it. I did this engine swap because I don't know fuel injection and just wanted a toy to play with. The engine that's in the car now is a pretty stock early 80s non-roller 302. I don't have any performance parts on it other than the exhaust system and Holley carb. I was planning to install aluminum heads and a cam. Right now with the non-performance heads and cam, the car has only as much power as an original 5.0, but with a cam and heads you will liberate a lot of horsepower. I rebuilt the engine myself, and I had all he machine work done by Engler Brothers in Santa Monica at a cost of over $1500. The car runs and drives nicely with a tight suspension and tranny, just as you would expect from a low-mileage 5.0. Mods: Besides the engine swap, the car has a really nice performance exhaust system with headers and Flowmaster pipes and mufflers. It has an aftermarket shifter and springs and shocks as well. The Pony wheels are not original to the car, but they are excellent original Pony's, not aftermarket, and have not been repainted. Smog: It will not pass smog as is, but you can swap the original engine (or the fuel injection set up) back in if you need to get it past smog. Note that I have lost the catalytic converters. This is a really beautiful and original 5.0 Mustang in great colors. It is really tough to find an original 5.0 that is in such nice condition. All the mods can easily be removed if you want a totally original, stock, low-mileage 5.0. Please contact me with any questions. I have set the reserve very low, and I expect the final bid to exceed it easily. I am a car enthusiast and have owned lots of interesting cars, including a Jaguar E-Type and a Cobra R. As with the other 5.0 Mustang that I have listed, I hope to sell it to someone that will appreciate the car as much as I have. Please note that I am firm on the price and won't take offers. Thank you.
