1981 VW Caddy Pickup Truck Selling my Caddy project. Moving in with my girlfriend, so truck has to go. I have owned this truck since 2005. The original 1.6 NA diesel engine blew the headgasket, so I swapped in a 1.6 Turbo Diesel engine. It has been an ongoing project, but it is currently not finished. Engine is installed, but not all motor mounts are installed yet.. Radiator, alternator, exhaust downpipe, and other parts & accessories are included, but not yet installed. Brake master cylinder was bad. New m/c in box included, ready to install. Lots of parts included, including turbo air cleaner box. Also includes original 1.6 diesel engine with blown headgasket. A few minor parts are missing: front turn signal lenses (in bumper) and ashtray door. Currently unfinished and not yet running. Body is in black primer: some peeling on cab roof, and surface rust spots on hood. Front round headlight conversion done with FK badgeless grille. Fog lights are not installed, but are included. (Placed in grille for some of the pics). Side markers shaved and filled. Euro style front bumper, no rear bumper. Shock towers are rust free and in great shape. There are a few small rusted areas on the back of cab, below rear window. Covered with duct tape to prevent water leaks: pulled it off for the pics so you can see how bad it is / isn't. There are some corresponding rust spots inside the cab. See pics. Gold tailgate included: some scratches on top from a camper shell, but in decent shape Bed is dented on the inside, and has some surface rust from moisture collecting in them. Interior is unfinished. Mostly red with grey MK3 seats, no headliner, console with stock gauges (not connected). See pics. No brakes right now. Old master cylinder is out and parking brake not working. Used turbo engine cost me $1300. 5 speed manual transmission. Sweet old school 14" Enkei wheels with 185/60-14 Kumho tires. Minor curb rash. Title is clear and in my possession. Registration paid in full. No smog required ever because it's a diesel. This is a no reserve auction. Someone will get a good deal on this and hopefully finish it up like it deserves. I am out of time and can't finish it. Moving next month and will have no room for this truck. Please see all the photos so that you know exactly what you are getting.
