Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1959 Ford F100. This truck is a short bed, 2wd, Custom Cab, big window, with the factory 292 Y-block V8, and the two speed automatic. I bought this truck from the original owner. It was on the same farm in the dry central valley of California since new in 1959. The truck is in great original condition. The truck runs and drives just fine. The brake system has been completely rebuilt (drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, all soft lines, and master cylinder) all of the parts are brand new not rebuilt. The brakes work perfectly. The wheel bearings were in great shape and just repacked. The engine runs good and starts every time, the trans seems to shift fine. There is a small exhaust leak (I think in the crossover pipe). The truck drives down the road pretty good. The tires are brand new Firestone Champion Deluxe biasply, 7.10x15, the rims are original and have been powder coated black, the hubcaps are original as well. The wiring is in very nice original shape. All the lights/blinkers work, heater, horn, wipers, fuel gauge, both dummy lights on the gauge cluster all work perfectly. It does have a factory radio which is not working. The seat has just been recovered, and the headliner is original. Some of the new parts Ive installed; glove box and springs and bumpers, gas pedal, brake pedal pad, sunvisors, gas filler neck grommet and soft hose, tail lights, parking lights, dome light. The windshield is brand new as well as the gasket. I have also polished the back glass and installed it with a new gasket also. The door weatherstripping is new as well as all the felting around the door glass, and the division bar. The door glass has been polished and has no bubbling at all, and the windwings do have some bubbling. The pictures do not do this truck justice. It has the coolest patina. 85% of the paint is original. The drivers front fender and lower drivers door have been repainted. The repaint is very old and most people would never know unless I told them. The top of the dash has been repainted also. The rest of the truck is original. I spent a lot of time buffing out this truck. Keep in mind that the truck does have dings scrapes and scratches, but the patina is absolutely outstanding. There are a few small spots of rust; the passenger rear cab corner, the inner rocker below the lower door hinge on both sides, and the pass rear bed corner. all the rust is very minor and could be replaced in about a day. I wasn't able to get very good pics of the undercarriage but it has patina as good as the top of the truck. Most of the frame still has original paint. under the bed and cab still has the maroon colored factory paint. The black Ca plates are in decent usable shape, the rear license plate frame does not go with the truck. Things that don't work or need attention; Small exhaust leak near crossover pipe, needs a new temp sender, needs a new speedo cable. Overall this is a very original California truck. It would be nearly impossible to find another factory V8, auto. big window in the original black paint. I have the original keys and spares. Clean and clear Ca title. Feel free to call or text for more info. Thanks for looking and good luck! 559-936-9253
