Vehicle Detail
I am selling ALL I have to do with 928's I have an 1984 5 Speed manual with 180,000 miles that is a daily driver and a 1986.5 Auto that I have spent the last 2 years restoring, and it was hit (Minor) right after the 8k paint , . I have a ton of parts as well, (Including all the parts to replace the damage) and will post a link to the photos and details on the parts that go with these cars. Yes I am selling Both cars in this auction and I have clean title to both. I will post more photos and details later. If you are interested in in only one than this is not for you. I like these cars too much to have any part of them around, therefore I am nearly giving them away. I needed to get this listing posted, and will post more info tomorrow, along with alot of pictures, so please check back. If you like these cars and have the time to work on them then I encourage you to check Back. I have over 14k in the black '86.5 and the 84 manual has new tires and H4 halogen lamps plus more. Thank you for looking and I will post more tomorrow. On May-17-12 at 13:09:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Here are recent pictures. I will start with the black 1986.5. I bought this car on ebay 1 year ago. It was granitrot metallic, and did not run. I cleaned all the ground points and relay board wemt through all the wiring, and replaced the crank position sensor and the ignition control modules. The car fired up. I then stripped the car entirely replaced the driver side 1/4 panel and sent it to paint. The engine was cleaned and new timing belt water pump rebuilt power steering pump new oil pan gasket intake gaskets exhaust gaskets . The compression is 160 to 180 . The car starts right up and drives strait, but one week after paint a neighbor was backing out as I was driving by at night, and well there you go. I found a nearby '86 at the junkyard and got the fender nose cover the aluminum bumper and the complete headlight bar and assemblies. (the accident was at night and the lights were up. I also have the replacement bumper shocks. The collision was at 25 mph and the frame is lifted at the crossmember under the ratiator, I was on my way to have them pull it strait again when the transmission finally went. (It gets 1st and reverse, so can be loaded) I bought all new rubber (1k) all it lacks is the passenger door seal. It has brand new Zimmerman rotors and pads and sensors. All the parts are there including the painted bump strips and interior. The tires and wheels on the grey one are original to this car. Also included are 2 8" wheels to go on the rear (one is seen in the pictures). I had been looking to convert this car to a five speed since I got it, and ended up buying the '84 5 speed. The '84 drove good so I just drove it. The '84 burns some oil and has a pinhole leak in the top of the overflow coolant tank and needs to add a cup of water once a week. The brakes need to be done. The first gear has a clicking (I am told it the reverse lockout or something floating in there) but I never use first anyway. I have lots of extra parts and half of another black interior. These are not perfect cars and I wont be able to tell you everything, and I am selling them as is. I encourage anyone that is close to come look and drive. I have too much extra stuff to fit in both these cars so keep that in mind. I would not hesitate to drive the grey one but the black will need to be hauled away. I will put the restoration photos together and add a link shortly. I put the price at 4000 and see there are bids, and these cars will sell, please understand that they are 928's and I want them to go to someone who either knows about them or wants to learn, they are not perfect, but you could make one really nice one with all the stuff here. Thank you for looking, Jim On May-17-12 at 17:56:17 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello, Ok alot of questions on the black '86. The car was hit one week after paint, thus it still has to be color sanded and buffed. The paint used was Dupont Super Jet Black Chroma and three coats of Montana eurospeed clear. The repairs will be an easy color match. Also I only had the car assembled enough to drive it so alot of the car still needs to be installed. All the glass was removed for the paint hood doors hatchback and sunroof. The complete interior as well. The interior was rhino coated. The engine was removed at the torque tube as well. New 928 motorsports solid mounts were installed. I could part these out piece by piece but would rather see it all go at once, you are bidding on BOTH cars plus the extras for the price of one. Thank You, Jim On May-19-12 at 08:23:06 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is a link to some pictures of the '86 restoration, you will need to cut and paste in your browser.
