Vehicle Detail
Here for sale is my 1972 442 convertible. I finished the car 5 years ago and have driven it only in summer. When I got the car it had been off the road since 1980. The previous owner had put new GM quarters on it. but the car had been parted out pretty bad. I have put new fenders, trunk lid and new hood (all fiberglass, not OEM) on it. Its had all new weatherstripping ie doors, trunk, conv top seals, window fuzzies. The engine is non #s correct, but correct era. The engine is completely rebuilt with no road miles on it at all. At transmisson, power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, power door locks, power trunk lock release. I had the seat upholstery front and back recovered with legendary seat covers, new carpet. The top works great! The top mech was all sand blasted and repainted and new top with glass back window. All new top weather seals installed. It has tilt wheel with rallye steering wheel. Bucket seats with console (it was orginally a bench seat car but had been converted before I got the car). All glass is in great shape and works good (drivers window does work a little slow). The bumpers are orginal and are in good driver condition (not show but good shape). Torque thrust 2 wheels, tires do have some weather checking but still good. Brand new wheel well mouldings. All the brakes were replaced when I started driving it 4 years ago. I just replaced the master cylinder and both wheel cylinders in the last 2 weeks. But brakes are good. I only put about 1000 miles a year on the car. Front brakes have ceramic coated calipers, cross drilled, slotted rotors. Rear brakes are stock. Control arm bushings were replaced. All new upper and lower ball joints replaced with NAPA premium ball joints. The paint is not show quality as far as im concerned. It does show VERY well. I get the thumbs up ALL the time. I have been told it looks show, but its not. There is a few chips here and there from road rocks and such. I have taken pictures of all the spots. The trunk lock is missing as is the trunk moulding. I do have the lock on order (power trunk release does work though) but I do not have the rear moulding. I may be able to find one. Just never got around to findind it and installing it. Over all this is a awesome car in looks and driving. Its ready now for the summer cruising. Im sure I have forgotten something, but PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS prior to bidding. I will be happy to answer all questions and send more pictures if you need. This car is sold as is, where is, how is. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction at anytime. Thanks John 269 808-4923. Please no calls after 9pm MI time. This is NOT a bondo buggy. It has alot of new parts on it. All panels are solid, The doors are the only panels that had any type of repair. Even they are still in very good shape. The rest of the body was replaced with new panels. IE fenders, quarters (with NOS gm) trunk lid and fiberglass hood (all fiberglass). Thanks again.
