1978 Ferrari 308 gts, black/black, no apparent rust, good condition - less engine. Bit of a story to this car - it was putchased from an early owner (possibly the original owner) last year by a Ferrari technician. Although the odometer read only 4400 miles the car had been sitting in a barn for 30 years and looked it. The technician removed and freshened the engine, freshened the fuel system, detailed the engine bay, then sold the car. The subsequent owner removed the freshened engine for use in another Ferrari and sold the rolling shell to me. I have sold a number of Ferrari parts on eBay relating to the restoration of my other 308 but can't bring myself to part this car out. It is too solid and too complete. I looked the car over fairly carefully and could not find any significant rust. The body is surprisingly sound. It needs paint - what I assume to be old lacquer has spidered and cracked badly. The car will need a complete repaint. The driver's door has a loose bottom hinge. The tires are worn. That's all I have noticed on the outside. The interior is surprisingly nice. The driver's seat has a hole in the bottom and the passenger seat bottom has been recovered. The underside of the top is missing the vinyl trims. The door lock pulls have been removed for some reason but are included with the car. The engine compartment looks great - ready to receive a new engine. The original engine and its accessories are gone. Several fiberglass ducts, the rear fender liners and some other bits that were removed are shown in a picture and are included. I don't know/can't prove that the indicated mileage is actual. I have an older North Carolina title signed/released by the seller. Is is stamped "inoperable vehicle." It is the responsibility of the new owner to obtain a new title in their state if they intend to restore/drive this car. I have tried to describe the car fairly. Please call me if you have questions.
