Rarely do you find a low production original convertible with a slim chance of finding another one like it. Up for auction is a stunning 1968 Buick LeSabre 400 convertible with only 91k original miles. I purchased this car from an elderly couple in Southern Maryland who were in the process of moving and owned this car for more than 20 years. Upon arrival at their residence, it was obvious that this rare Buick had spent most of its time in a garage alongside the house. Here are just a few of its many options: *The 'LeSabre 400' option package included a 280 horsepower 350 four-barrel V8 with 10.25 to 1 compression and three speed Super Turbine 400 automatic transmission.*Power Windows (a must for a convertible), Power Top with boot (works great), Rear Mounted Electric Antenna (works great), Power Steering, Power Brakes, Original AM/FM stereo radio (great sound), 'Soft Ray" tinted glass (all windows), Dual Exhaust with Resonators, Air Conditioning, Full Front Floor Mat, Buick Custom Wheels, Remote Driver's Side Mirror, Full Size Spare-Bumper Jack/Tools, Spare Keys. The car runs and drives beautifully. Photos cannot capture the true beauty of this vintage Buick. The top is in excellent condition, no tears, works perfectly and comes with a custom boot. It has the original interior, original carpet, original door panels, original antenna, original tinted glass; just about all original. The floor pans, frame rails and trunk are in very good condition. The dash looks great with no cracks. The entire vehicle was inspected by a mechanic and all mechanical components were found to be in excellent condition. Both the brake system and carburetor were recently overhauled. It starts right up. There are no leaks and the engine does not smoke or burn any oil. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. In my opinion, this is a great survivor; a great car for the open road or even take it to the next level (show condition). When was the last time you saw one of these anywhere? It has a clear title. Please come see and drive it for yourself!! Additionally, this Buick has original documentation dating back many years. It includes: Original owner’s manual, GM folding top operation manual, 1968 Buick Owner Protection Plan, Buick shop manual. I believe the original build sheet is still under the backseat. . 1968 Buick LeSabre 400 convertibles are almost impossible to find these days, only 5,257 were built!! I’m not an expert on the value or condition of these vehicles, and therefore, my opinion of a vehicle may not be the same as yours. This car is not perfect and I don’t claim it to be. There's no doubt that the interior is all original including the carpet. Both the interior and the carpet need a thorough cleaning. The carpet shows some signs of heel wear under the accelerator pedal but that's to be expected. According to the previous owner, the paint is the original color and it was repainted several years ago. What impressed me the most about this Buick is the dash is not cracked anywhere. The windows go up and down with ease. The convertible top goes up and down without missing a beat. It'is one of the best working tops I've seen in a long time. The rear mounted antenna goes up and down with ease and the radio sounds great. The previous owner also gave me a wide variety of parts that he had collected over the years and they will be included with the sale.
