They don't bother with tuned cars like this, so we acquired it from them. This Subie is all factory in appearance but has been tuned up under the hood. It's very clean, has not been smoked in. It's very well equipped, and it runs out super strong. We've had a local friend of the family and professional Subaru tuner go over this car and from what we can determine, it likely has built internals, does have an ACT clutch, custom downpipe with factory muffler, custom turbo (possibly 20g), 1000cc injectors, manual boost controller, and we've unlocked the ECU and tuned it, was probably a Cobb tune before which would require purchase of expensive software to tune, we sent the ECU to Cobb and unlocked it, now any tuning shop can work on it. The car is very quick, though we haven't had it on a dyno. It runs very smooth and shows no check engine or cruise / tcs lights illuminated. Local residents in emissions zones will be guaranteed emissions. No out of state emissions guarantees granted. This is a very neat car and well done / kept. It is fine to drive daily and is built capable of far more should you choose to go further. It is priced very well for what it is and a neat find! exterior The paint and body on this car are in nice shape overall. It has good gloss, no rust, hail, no body damage, car has never seen road salt, and it has a nice clean accident free Carfax. There are no dings, no bad scratches, wheels look pretty good and tires have good remaining even tread left. The windshield is fine, no cracks. Everything lines up, matches and looks good. The car has some normal road wear on the front end from freeway driving. The rockers show very slight road wear as well. 1 wheel has a small scuff, but not bad. There are a few small superficial marks about the body, has a few miles and isn't brand new, but the owner certainly took care of it. We'll put a coat of wax on it before pickup if you like, could probably benefit, really a sharp looking car though. interior The interior is in very nice shape. It smells nice, fairly new, never smoked in and I'm super picky about this. The upholstery is nice overall, couple little white speckles on the drivers rear bench, they may come off. The carpet is ok, no floor mats currently in the car. We do have the keyless clicker and all original manuals. Everything works great including the A/C, car has a nice stereo. The low tire light is illuminated on the dash, but the tires all have air. It may be a sensor going out. The glove box has a few scuffs. mechanical I put about 150 miles on this car since purchase just tinkering around and was quite pleased with it. It runs smooth and sounds pretty mean, but not obnoxious. It has a factory muffler, but does have the down pipe, not really loud, but it sounds tuned. Going down the highway it sounds like any normal Subie. The clutch is a bit stiffer than normal and takes some getting used to, but it becomes second nature quickly. Around town it feels like any normal WRX, fine for just running around. We think it has a 20g turbo, which is larger than stock, and doesn't spool till a bit higher. It starts spooling around 3500rpm, and pulls very very hard from 4600 to redline. If you want it to run like a stock STI, you just need to bolt up a VF48 turbo which can be bought for around $1,000 new, or $650 used. The gentleman that went over this car informed us the motor had been out, and block split likely to build it. It does have Wiseco decals on the front bumper. I'm sure they did rods and studs if they put pistons in it. We don't have any information on the previous owner. This really doesn't affect anything as far as normal driving, just makes the internals that much stronger if you choose to pull more power out of it. These cars are actually very durable from the start and are better at putting up with abuse than the early ones. Talk to any Subaru tuner and they'll tell you the 08+ models really are light years ahead of the early ones from the motor standpoint.
