1986 VOLKSWAGEN RABBIT CABRIOLET A Good running and driving rust-free Rabbit that is fun and get very good fuel mileage that I have lost interest in as I have to many old Pontiacs that I have to keep up with instead. First off ... No addition Doc fees ...no high deposit required ... and the seller (Thats Me) takes pride in Buyer satisfaction and selling quality items on Ebay ....Please check my feedback or contact me with any concerns. This VW Rabbit is a Burgandy / Brownish color with a tan Convertible top. Body is in good condition, with no rust anywhere!!! Only issue is the right side fender had a small dent that the previous owner attempted to pop out. The paint is presentable at best with the hood having some water spots and there is some touch up paint on the driver-side door by the center molding. Again ...there is no rust ...the rocker panels are perfect, all wheel lips are perfect, the shock towers are perfect, around the windshield is perfect, all panels are original with no repairs and no rust. ...Even the floors are original and show the factory undercoating and are in excellent condition, along with the trunk floor. The suspension shows no wear. Brake and fuel lines are excellent as well. Also... The front grille was upgrade to a badgeless grille for cleaner look. Interior is in pretty good condition and surprisingly the dash pad is in good shape. Nice original center console which houses the 5-speed shifter along with 3 factory gauges. Original steering wheel is in good condition with working horn buttons. The original radio is long gone ...but the previous owner installed a NEW ...top of line Jensen AM/FM single CD player with a In Dash 3.5 Inch Flip Down LCD Monitor and Multimedia DVD Recv., USB, SD Card & BlueTooth and XM Capabilty which retails for $225.99. The heater and heater blower functions all work ....but the A/C is need of a charge. The speedometer and odometer work fine ....but the tach and the fuel gauge recently stop working as it will need a Instrument Voltage Stabilizer ( part# LM7810CT semi conductor ) located behind the speedometer ...a $0.79 cent part held on by 1 screw ...which can be order at the Mouser website ....an Easy and low cost fix!!! The engine starts up right away and runs strong with no smoke and no odd noises. The transmission shifts fine but would benefit from a shifter bushing kit in the near future...which seems common for these cars. This car drives pretty well, and was just removed from winter storage and has not been daily driven since last October ......so I installed a NEW alternater and a newer battery this past week and checked all fluids and I also use fuel stabilizer before winter storage...so there would be no issues with reliablity! Starts right up and charging system is working wonderful. The factory wheels are in good shape and the tires show plenty of tread with no flat spots. The exhuast is nice and sounds good and I noticed that the muffler vibrates a little at idle ...maybe a new exhaust hanger would help. The manual top goes down easily and right back up with ease ...with both latches working good. The trunk lid has a NEW lift bar as shown in pics. Both bumpers are very nice with nice end caps ...and all emblems are present. The antenna is present and not broken but will need minor repair. Comes with original manuals and keys and a clear Pennsylvania tilte in my name. Please email for additional information prior to bidding if needed.
