This is my wonderful, old 528e, that has been in the family for quite some time, trading back and forth between siblings.  It is rust-free, and up-to-par, maintenance-wise.  It is ready to drive across the country.  The fact that is has no rust really is its strong point.  Combo the lack of rust with its bulletproof M20 engine and excellent gas mileage.  This car will go forever. My 528e, named "Buster", has a clean and clear title (in my name) and I regularly get a mixed MPG in the 26-28 mpg range (mostly city, in my case). If you hypermile (go about 60, with very little change in speeds) on the freeway it's easy to get over 30 mpg. Odometer works and reads 62,800 miles but was reset to zero when the engine was rebuilt. Estimated total mileage of 260k miles on the body. Smog (emissions) done last week.  It passed with good marks.  CA registration good to December 2012. Good stuffs: + Timing belt service just done last week +  Complete Brake Job completed in February 2012 +  Tune up completed in January 2012, including plugs, wires, drive belts, and fluids +  Rebuilt engine (top end: valves, etc.) 62k miles ago +  1-year-old radio with HD radio, built-in bluetooth, iPhone support, USB support, and it cooks great eggs +  All powered items work--power windows, locks, seats, radio, on-board computer, cruise control, defroster, horn, climate control fan speeds, etc.  +  Clutch job two years ago, less than 30k miles old +  No deferred maintenance -- it is rock steady and ready to drive to the Florida Keys. No alerts in the check control module or in the instrument cluster. +  No rust! No wrecks. Bad stuffs: +  Windshield crack -- out of view, along top of windshield +  The sport package is obviously not original to the car.  The spoilers (front and rear) were added by some yahoo +  Cloth interior is showing its age (but comfortable--like an old couch) +  Dents on all four doors... makes it a good "city parking" car -- never worry about door dings again +  AC blows cool, but not cold. It is R12 and has not been converted to R134a. +  No cupholders (yeah, what WERE they thinking?), and I tossed out the old, ratty floormats I had in there as well. +  No owner's manual, and some of the tools are missing from the trunk toolkit.
