Vehicle Detail
We purchased the car in 2002 with approximately 34000 miles. It is a great daily driver and a real head turner. We enjoyed using it for commuting and family outings in the summer. It was also great fun at the drive in theater. In 2010 we decided to rebuild the engine. There had been issues with it running poorly. We found that the block was cracked and decide to replace it entirely. The old engine was not numbers matching. We also had the transmission rebuilt. Since then we have added less than 1000 miles to the car. The car is painted rangoon red. The current interior is black. I have decode the data and found it originally had a red and white pony interior. The trunk still has the original plaid liner. The interior is a little rough but the car it very driveable. The convertible top is white. The rear window has been replaced. The car came with a power top but the motor is missing, but the ram and switch are in place. The body is in excellent shape, It was built in the midwest , but must of spent time away from the midwest winters and salt. There is no rust. We have only driven the car in the summer and stored in a garage with a cloth cover. The rocker panels and floor pans are original and rust free. The tires only have 4000 miles on them. The car is an automatic with the T shifter and center console. The engine is the 289 V8 . The car was built in late 1964 or early 1965. The car currently has the wire knockoff wheel covers and five bolt wheels . The battery and alternator are also new. This car is a great driver as is and an easy project car needing only to replace the interior to its original configuration. a new top and you would have a real stunner and head turner.
