Vehicle Detail

I have for sale a rust free, non-sunroof 1977 911S with fiberglass slantnose conversion and webers. This car is almost ready to go either way – street or track. For street I have the entire interior (other than carpet) to reinstall. I was going to assemble it but I keep thinking this car is a perfect track car so why bother. For track it needs a roll bar, lowered and some wheels. The PO was a major DIY’er and I have a stack of receipts for parts and projects he did to this car. Way too many to list. The interior has been stripped with the exception of driver’s seat. The driver seat has the seams undone and the passenger seat is in good shape. The entire floor was painted with POR15. The dash and headliner are in good shape with no cracks or tears. The oil level gauge is erratic. Everything else works as it should. I have the original door panel vinyls if buyer wishes to put the panels back to original. I do not however have the pockets. There is no radio, speakers, a/c, or anything else that adds extra weight. Oh yeah, and check out that steering wheel. The brakes have a new master cylinder, stainless steel lines and beefy oem pads. The front rotors are crossdrilled but they do shake a little when applying brakes. You could drive it as is but sometime down the road they should be replaced. The fluid is blue racing fluid. The pedal cluster was rebuilt with bronze bushings. The body is in good shape. The paint, however, is not. It looks great from 10’ but up close the imperfections start to show. There is a chip missing on the passenger door as you can see in the pic. The car is painted guards red. It was originally a copper or burnt orange color. I do have pics of the car before and during the conversion. Actually it was a nice car. Don’t know why they hacked it up. The installation of the fiberglass kit was pretty well done. They used a 930 front valance and fiberglass rear spoiler. The fog lights in the valance are new and need to be wired with a relay. I do have the slits for the rear fender vents and also the bottom rocker panels as well as the torsion bar hole covers. I think it looks cooler without them but that’s just my opinion. Overall the seams line up nicely and the doors shut well. Obviously the window trims could use a touch up with some flat black paint. The motor – this is the best part. Did I say excellent to track? The original 2.7 was rebuilt by Sugarcreek Motorsports in Centerville, OH at 98824 miles at a cost of $7750. Now shows 109152 so that makes it just over 10k miles. As per the invoice they used RS p&c’s (not sure if there’s a difference). It sports a set of weber 40ida’s however I cannot get them tuned just right. I don’t have any experience with carbs and even though I’ve read all the threads and the weber book each one has a different method. Bottom line is they need a final adjustment. It runs a little rough when cold and smooths out as it warms up. But it still spits a little and I don’t want to keep messing with them. The motor has the chain tensioner upgrade, msd ignition, holley pressure gauge, pressure regulator, k&n filters, magnacore wires, turbo valve covers, front bumper mounted oil cooler and ssi’s into a bursch 2 in 1 out muffler. It sounds fantastic. I don’t think my neighbors feel the same though. I put a new set of plugs, points and adjusted the valves just a few days ago along with new valve cover gaskets, fresh oil (VR1 20W50) and filter. The bad is the paint, front rotors and oil gauge which I already mentioned, 3 of the tires need replacing or just get a set of wider wheels (the current wheels are 15x7 replicas with spacers), and the front bonnet shocks are weak. One of the pop-up headlight motor relays is bad and I finally sourced one out of Texas so I’ll be ordering it. Overall this is a good car that needs a little work to get it in either direction. I have the original tool kit, owner’s manual, and like I said before a stack of receipts. If you would like to see more pictures, please send a request!!!!
