Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a Daytona Blue Metallic 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix. I purchased the car 5 years ago and have done little work since I purchased it, although I have gone through the car well. The car has a 303 HP 389 4 bbl with automatic transmission. I was able to get the car running three years ago and although the carburetor needed rebuilding, the engine seemed to be a good one. I have since installed a better carburetor and was able to fire it up for about 15 seconds today. The engine was quiet and I did not see or smell any smoke. I do not have the fuel tank on the vehicle since I was planning on replacing the trunk floor and had removed it, so I did not run the car longer than that. As for the transmission and brakes, I have not driven the car and do not know their condition. As for options, the car has power windows, power drivers seat, power vent windows, power steering, power antenna, map light, trunk light, 8 lug wheels (and I do have the spare). I am including all trim rings and center caps with the wheels. I tested all the power options when I purchased the car and they all worked, although the window channels could use some grease (some will only roll down an inch or two. The body itself has some rust as can be seen in the pictures. There is rust around the rear windows, on the quarter panels, front fenders and on the bottom of the doors. I am certain that all is repairable, although the quarters could be replaced. The front fenders are only rusted at the back where the brace attaches to the back. The trunk has some rust and is repairable, but I have purchased a new trunk floor and that is included in the sale. There is some rust on the bottoms of the doors. I have a set of rust free doors that are negotiable in the sale but not included (see picture). The typical pontiac hood rusts at the front and I have replaced the original hood with a good, rust free hood shown in picture. The floor pans are all rust free and look nearly new from under the car. The frame is solid. I had the car on blocks and checked the frame from front to back and I saw no problems. The windshield is crack free, but is scratched at the top from bad wiper blades. Weatherstripping needs replaced. The original Paint color can be seen on the picture showing the trunk light. The interior on the car is unbelievable! The carpet and seats are in great shape with a few very minor issues. The headliner has a couple of rips in it. The kick panels need new backing and the rear seat deck needs replaced (Ames has them for $35 to $40 bucks). As far as I know, the car is complete. The bumper, grills, etc. are not on car right now, but I have all of that ready to go with the car. I have included a few extra rear back up light quarter extensions, and an extra gas tank that is better than the original. I also have a carburetor kit that I will throw in. I have a clear title and PHS documentation on the car. Illinois buyers are responsible for sales tax. I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells locally.
