1996 Mitsubishi Montero SR This one-owner Montero is still being used as a daily driver. It has been treated & maintained with care, with all scheduled maintenance performed by the same local Mitsubishi dealership. In addition to the standard options on the Montero SR, it also has running boards and brush guard installed by the dealer, a tow hitch/receiver & 4-plug harness, 10-disc CD changer, cargo kit, leather & wood package (which includes variable shock absorbers) and a roof rack with sunroof. The timing belt service was performed in June of last year and the air conditioner evaporator was replaced last April (it's cold -- very cold). We've really tried to take care of this vehicle but at 15+ years old, it's got the expected wear-and-tear on the exterior (including oxidation on the hood and front of the roof) and interior (wear on the seat where the driver enters and exits). The sunroof hasn't been opened in a couple of years and I would guess it would need maintenance for normal operation. One of the tires is brand new (replaced due to nail in the sidewall) and the other three were purchased within the past 20K miles. The major used vehicle evaluation websites listed prices for the 1996 Montero SR ranging from $4,000 to $5,400. The reserve price on this auction is significantly below even the lowest price from the evaluation sites. On Apr-21-12 at 18:39:47 PDT, seller added the following information: 4/21 Update: The Montero was washed & waxed by a local auto detailing company yesterday, as well as receiving a light polishing on the hood & front of roof to remove as much oxidation as possible. During the wash process the "scrub guy" managed to crack the spare tire cover -- let me know if you would like to see photos of this as well. Two items that will also be included with the sale that aren't mentioned above are the original vinyl spare tire cover (which was only used for a couple of months & still looks pretty much like new -- photos are available) and a custom-fit interior windshield sunshade.
