1961 PLYMOUTH FURY. Here is an example of classic late 50s and early 60s American 'styling-excess', a 1961 Plymouth Fury. Everything on this car was accented and designed with flair. The car starts, the push button transmission moves forward and back, the brakes work just enough stop the car at low speed. We had the carburator refurbished and installed a new fuel pump, the gas tank needs to be cleaned (the car is running on a auxiliary bottle of gas), radiator needs to be boiled out. The engine sounds good, no major leaks and does not smoke, obviously the car is not road worthy yet. The lights work, the odometer 10th digit moved when we moved the car around our parking lot, the radio light comes on but there is no sound, the dome light works. The horn works, wipers work, volt and temp gauge work. The floorpan, frame and suspension are basically solid and rust free (passenger front floor-pan is thin and has some minor rust through). The rust issues are in the trunk floor (surface rust and small holes), there is rust in the bottom of the rear quarter panels, near the rear wheels and a little on the bottom of the rear window (pics show all rust areas). This car was traded-in and has a clear California title. ***When backing up after taking the pictures, the right rear brake jammed up going in reverse, but the car can be driven slowly forward. You can roll it backwards slowly. Therefore, the back brake will need extra work. The car is sold as-is and as equipped. However, you are welcome to come see and or have the car inspected before the end of the auction. California buyers and all in state sales are subject to sales tax, doc. & lic. fees. Payment is due in full within seven days. In California, all vehicles over ten years old are sold miles 'exempt'. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer.
