Vehicle Detail

Very fun car for sale here. This is my newly completed 1971 Triumph Spit6. Don’t see many of these for sale. Has only been driven around a few miles locally since being restored. The project began with a 1971 GT6 (mk III) and a 1971 Spitfire (mk IV). The tub of the GT6 was replaced with the Spitfire tub. Doors are GT6 as well, as I liked the side window panel, which the Spitfire does not have. All chassis, brakes, axles, engine, etc. are from the GT6. In my opinion this is the best way to make the conversion, This car gives you the best of both worlds, extra engine power (2.0L Inline 6 on the GT6 vs. the Spitfires Inline 4) with the fun ride of a convertible. Along the way there have been a number of upgrades and repairs, making this a truly unique and spectacular car. **Please note I am awaiting arrival of new door panels this week. I will install them before sale. Also a new windshield gasket is coming this week (hence the windshield is not installed), thought I had one, but must have misplaced it. This work will be completed before the end of the week.** Here is a list of upgrades, work done, and any notes. Trying to offer as complete of a description of this unique vehicle as possible. If there are any additional questions please feel free to email me and I will get back to you as quickly as possible Drive Train: -Engine professionally rebuilt, block resurface and rebored -Added Dual Mikuni Flat Side Carburetors. These are Japanese made motorcycle carbs that are considered by many to be the best available carb replacement for triumphs. They are easy to work with and add great power, fuel efficiency, and reliability. Great replacement for the stock Stromberg Carbs -Ford Type 9, 5 speed synchromesh transmission. This unit has been modified and rebuilt to work perfectly with the GT6. This piece came from Quantum Mechanics, who specialize in British transmissions. Great addition for easier freeway driving and better performance -New Belts and Hoses -Electric Fan Installed -New Fuel Tank -New Fuel Pump -New Copper Fuel Lines and Fuel Filter Ignition/Electrical: -New Petronix Flame thrower Distributor with Electronic Ignition. Very reliable, points never need to be set or adjusted -New 8 Circuit Wiring Harness and Fuse Center from Painless Performance Wiring -All new switches. All Electric Work was professionally done and the electrical system all being completely new will offer amazing reliability and save a lot of headaches -New Black Carpet Kit Installed with soundproofing material added underneath -New Ignition Coil -New Remanufactured Alternator -New Battery -New Horns Hydraulics/Suspension: -Front end rebuilt while engine was being rebuilt including new KYB Suspension -Rear suspension has been extended outside of the wheel well with a custom piece from the UK. This will prevent typical GT6 issue of the wheel well being destroyed -New Brake Master Cylinder -New Clutch Master Cylinder -This year comes with the much preferred roto-flex allowing for great handling Interior/Body -Body is very straight, zero rust or corrosion whatsoever. 100% California Car!! -Switched out 1971 GT6 Bonnet (Hood) for much cooler looking slotted GT6 bonnet -New Transmission Tunnel -Seats reupholstered with blue bead finish to match cars paint. These are the early style Spitfire seats without the headrest, which add a much cooler vintage look -This car was repainted with the tub off in a light corvette blue. Through the restoration process there have been a few nicks here and there, which should be an easy fix, just some touch up work. I am including some extra paint for you as well. The last pic is of a small crack in the paint in the bonnet. -New Zip down the middle tonneau cover with paint matching bead -Chrome is in great condition, although the front bumper could use some straightening/resurfacing -Comes with repainted factory hardtop with new headliner installed and factory original convertible top that with some cleaning will be looking great -Includes new luggage rack -Will include new wood dash pieces -Tires in good shape Overall this is a really fun car with a lot of time and care put into it. All main components are Triumph with some great modern touches. Will be great to cruise around in during the summer. I am selling this car because I’m starting a new job and need something a bit bigger. Will be very sad to see it go. Buyer is responsible for pickup or transportation.
