First time offered for sale outside local area. Amazing piece of racing history. This early rear engine car is powered by a very rare (Hilborn) fuel injected Tyce & Taylor (TnT) engine. Tyce and Taylor developed some of the first lightweight engines used in military and industrial application during WWII. A modified version of that engine was supplied to Crosley and used in production for a short time. An interesting side note: this engine was patented under the name "Cobra" which stood for Co (copper) bra (brazed) the process used to make the lightweight block. When Shelby went to trademark his famous Cobra name it took some time because the rights were technically still owned by the Crosley Corp. Owner has some period literature and information about the engine and builders. Trailer is not included in sale price. Unknown mileage, obviously not 100k. This car has 4 wheel disc brakes, 2 piston calipers in the rear and single piston in the front. 2. Overall length is 10' 8", the rear bumper guard is adjustable to a small degree. 3. Lower body panels are aluminum, upper cowling is fiberglass. Rear engine cowling is missing. 4. Hilborn injector is serial number 101. This is the first in this series as Hilborn started series with 100. 5. Trailer is available for purchase separately for $1,500 6. Extra set of rims and tires for car included if purchased with buy it now or locally for full price. Have spoken with a local resident who saw this car run in person when it was new.
