Vehicle Detail

GORGEOUS PICKUP RESTORED IN LATE 2004 RUNS LIKE A SOWING MACHINE NO RUST ISSURES PICTURES: The truck is not green, it is tan with black fenders, the green tint is just reflections off the green grass and trees. THE WAY I SEE THIS TRUCK AS A 65 YEAR OLD HARD CORE CAR GUY, RETIRED AUTO-MECHANICS INTRUCTOR AND ARMY HELICOPTER MECHANIC AND INSTRUCTOR! The truck is beautiful, it was restored in late 2004 so its not roll out of the trailer perfect, "just very nice". If you want a nice truck to drive and enjoy this is it, if you want a perfect truck to win the National Model A Club Show, get ready to pay more money. HISTORY: This little truck was restored by a old man here in East Tennessee, he passed away and his family sold it to a car collector friend of mine. He owned 21 cars and decided some had to go, so I bought the truck. TITLE: Clear Tennessee title in hand. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? No rust problems, no rust bubbles in the paint and the underside looks real good. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a retired auto-mechanics instructor and was a helicopter mechanic and instructor in the Army in the late 60s, when I find a vehicle I like and can sell for a fair market price, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: "Nice paint"! It has no rust, no dents, no dings and it has a good shine. I see a few touched up chips on the edge of the doors, a few specs, the tail gate chain and the hood hinge on top have some touched up chips. The hood hinge on top is always chipped a little, "its just the way they are where the piano hinge moves". The paint is very nice, its just not perfect the way it was the day it was painted in 2004, I could tell you it was painted 6 months ago and you would believe me. TRUCK BED: The bed is good, but the wood is not perfect. The wood has 1 crack at the front of 1 peice and the grain is a little weathered, but decent, just not perfect. Some touched up chips at the edge of some bolts and the tail-gate chain. CHROME: Nice chrome and stainless, it has a very good shine, it has no peeling, it is not dull, it is not perfect, but very good. INTEROR: Interior is nice. UNSERSIDE: No rust problems, nice not perfect show condition. GLASS: The door glass is good and they roll up and good, he back glass good, I had the glass shop put a new windshield in. TOP AND RUNNING BOARDS: The top is very good, running boards very good. SOUND SYSTEM: Roll the window down and hear the engine purr. AIR CONDITIONING: Roll the windshield out. ENGINE: It’s a 4 cylinder flathead that runs like it should, past owner said it was rebuilt, but I have no documentation. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Good condition. TRANSMISSION: 3 speed manual that shifts as it should, these did not have synchronized first gear. REAR-END: Original and is in good condition with no whines or growls. BRAKES: Mechanical brakes, “no juice, no hydraulics”. The brakes are OK for a Model A. STEERING: It drives good to me, if you drive here in your modern car, jump in the truck and take a test drive, you will not be impressed, "its a Model A". The steering gear has a little play. WHEELS AND TIRES : Tires are very good by Firestones and have no cracks, the wheels are original rims and the spare not new, but OK. LIGHTS and wiring: The head lights work, the tail lights work, turn signals have been added. HORN WORKs! ! THE GAS GAUGE WORKS! HOW FAST WILL THE TRUCK GO! It will go faster, but a good cursing speed is about 35 to 40 miles per hour. . GUAGES: THEY WORK! HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? They open and close good! The doors on the Model A Ford hang over on the back, its the way Henry Ford built them. DEFECTS AND PROBLEMS: These are just what I remember off the top of my head! 1. A few touched up chips in the paint, mostly on the tail gate chain and arm, a few touched up chips on the edge of the door 2. A little play in the steering box. GOOD STUFF: 1. The truck is beautiful. 2. The truck has no rust. 3. The truck runs great. 4. Things work. 5. You don't have to do anything unless you want to. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just too hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the vehicle, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell telephone number is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville and 50 miles north of Chattanooga. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee “I am truly qualified to be called a Hill Billy”. I am 65 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 39. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 42 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! TRANSPORT: EBAY MOTORS gives instant transport quotes if you click on the link on my listing. US OR EXPORT “the best”: Classic Car Transport, LLC: This is a very good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas with the white glove treatment. They are located in Kansas City. FOR EXPORT: Call Bill Cunningham at 913-749-0930 Email billc@classiccartransport.com FOR IN THE us: Call Jeremy Whitley at 913-749-0936 Email jeremyw@classiccartransport.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. I will take paypal for the deposit, but not for full payment. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. And its safe for both of us. WILL I HOLD THE CAR UNTIL YOU GET HERE TO LOOK OR HAVE IT INSPECTED? Not without a $250 non-refundable deposit! I have held too many cars that people promise me they are going to buy and they never show up, their wife won’t let them buy it, they can’t get a loan or they just back out. Before you drive or fly a long distance you need to make sure the car is not sold. “The way I look at it is until you pay a deposit you’re just looking and dreaming”. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! BOTTOM LINE: My firm price is $18,650 and I am asking $19,650 on the local market, "THIS IS MY LOWEST PRICE".. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. READ ALL MY FEED-BACKS AS A SELLER! Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com I am very careful about taking payment, I have had a fake certified check, it looked real and the buyer seemed real. I will take one, but I will check you out. I am ebay varified, that means you can buy ebays buyer protection plan and they will guarantee thats I'm real, they will not guarantee the car.
