I just started it so it's a bit bare, but I have more pictures of the car on there with more on the way ,and I'm tring to get some video on there as well. I had alot of questions about alot of things so thought I'd make more images avilable so everyone has a better idea of what this car is like. If you don't see video and you want too, I can send it to your email. HISTORY: It had been sitting for a number of years before I bought the car when in 1997 from a friend, I was 18 years old. I drove it 3 years until I moved out of state for work and needed a more practical mode of transportation. It sat in a barn 5 years until I was able to transport it to Georgia where I was living. When I got it there I replaced the 4-speed with the automatic (never cut the tunnel or removed the peddle). I drove it about a month and 600 miles when the motor suddenly destroyed a couple rod bearings. I parked it about 2 more years before deciding to fix it. I pulled the motor out and took the short block to this old school motorheads machine shop with the new crank, bearings, and flywheel. He washed the block, honed the cylinders, balanced the rotating assembly, installed the new cam bearings and freeze plugs in the block, and put screw studs and push rod guides in the heads. I was in the process of putting the engine back in the car when the housing market crashed, wasn't making enough money, and needed to come back to Michigan to take a job. So, then the car had been sitting in my trailer until this spring when I finally got the time and space to finish putting it back together. I drove it around awhile at the end of last summer to brake-in the motor. Then, took her to Ubly Dragway to see what she could do.. 13.11 ET @ 102 mph ENGINE: Engin # 3951509 - most sought after by builders because of the nickel content making it more durable than earlier years 3000 miles on rebuild Forged 10:1 pistons .30 over Iron Eagle cast crank -- chamfered journals Stock rods Clevitte 77 bearings 202 heads -- milled -- screw studs -- guides Roller rocker/tip aluminum rocker arms Timing Gears "noisy" sounds like a super charger Edelbrock performer RPM cam & intake Edelbrock 600 cfm carb High volume oil pump Morosso 7 quart pan Accel ignition coil, 8mm wires Stainless Hardware Kit 3 inch welded dual exhaust -- X cross over pipe -- Thrush turbo mufflers NEW -- radiator, water pump, fuel pump, harmonic balancer, flywheel TRANSMISSION: 3000 miles TCI street fighter - purchased new - 450hp rating - part# TCI-311000 B&M ratchet shifter "Mega Shifter" part# BMM-20480 B&M 2400 rpm stall converter "Nitrous Holeshot" 625hp rating - part# BMM-80688 SUSPENSION: Traction bars -- not the cheap ones ; these use the axle u-bolts to mount and replace the old plate New bearings and seals - front & rear Heavy big block front springs All tie rods and ball joints are either low mile or new, tight Rear springs rebuilt with an extra leaf, bushings are new Shocks are low mile BODY: 1977 firebird body Originally a 4-speed and can be easily returned Glass is good Interior is decent Seats are good except for drivers, seam blown out No headliner, carpet, or rear dash It has a fair bit of rust on it that can be seen from the photos- the floor pans have holes the glass leaks the deck lid has rust under the spoiler Wipers do not function Door locks are seized, unlocked Drivers door hinges are worn enough Gas gauge does not function Speedometer cable broken internally Mileage not actual CONCLUSION: It is what it is.
