Vehicle Detail
1975 Supercharged MG Midget. Complete restoration while daily driving for the last 4 years. <12K miles on rebuild. Needs Engine work!! After installing a new radiator, I got a hose to close to the belt and rubbed a hole in it while on the highway. I over heated it and cracked the head.I though I had just blown a head gasket and had the head off twice messing with new gaskets and having the head surfaced again. Kept blowing the coolant out of it and, finally determined that the head was cracked. While trying to nurse it home after the last test drive I think I spun a rod bearing. Well...shoot.. lol....Anyway, i got a new "used head" for it but have run out of time. I sold the house and am moving on the boat to finish prepping it for cruising and have to let my baby go.Every thing in and on the motor is new so, your rebuild will be simple and fairly inexpensive.Recommend new bearings, new rings, turn the crank and, have the new head gone over. Note: The actual mileage on the car is unknown, I have put 12K on her since I have owned her (since 06) and the drive train has less then 5K on it.Engine. 75 Triumph 1500. Hi performance build with high dollar parts. Bored .10 over, New pistons, high compression 9:1. Head surfaced, High profile street Cam, dual valve springs, Kent adjustable double row cam sprockets and chain, Block line bored for cam bearings. Flame thrower distributor and ignition. Lightened flywheel, ARP fasteners throughout. Edson supercharger, running 5 PSI of boast. Excellent driv-ability! Great fun in town. Just a little lope to the idle. Smooth, powerful acceleration. The supercharger runs unloaded for nice fuel mileage while cruising or during normal acceleration and loads up as you get deeper into the throttle for soccer mom SUV stomping. Transmission. Stock and completely rebuilt. All new bearings, seals, syncros and gears as required. New drive shaft, new axel bearings and seals, new and or rebuilt brakes. New master and slave cylinders, both brakes and clutch, new clutch.New top, new seat covers and interior carpet. Nice Mini lite wheels. Boy.. on and on!You think I spent some time and money? Lol. . ..The supercharger kit was 4K all by itself. Body: Very solid, one of the rear quarters has a little rust bubble under the flat black, and the left front fender is dented. Car comes with a replacement fender but, it's green. The car was completely stripped and "garage" painted four years ago and looks daily driver nice but after you replace the fender you will need a repaint. The car still runs but I shut her down and had her towed as soon as I heard her start "tapping" so, you will have to tow her home. You will need to come get her within two weeks of winning her as I will be moving. New header and complete exhaust system. 2" to 1 7/8" Tight suspension, new poly bushings. I loved my midget and will miss her. She would get almost daily complements and, What fun!
