Convertible weather is almost here! Up for bid is a very cool rust free 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible. This vehicle is considered a daily driver. It is powered by the original 352 ci and shifts with a C6 transmission. It has power steering and power top. This car goes down the road smooth and straight. In 2011, we drove this car on two seperate 500 mile trips without any problems. You bump the starter and it immediately starts right up. Everthing is operational on this 48 year old car. The engine does not use oil, does not knock, smoke, or overheat. Will drop a few drops when parked. All lights, turn signals, gauges, wipers, heater, and original AM radio are operational. The wiring has not been spliced or hacked up. The interior seats, door panels, carpeting are in nice condition. The top has no rips or tears but is very tight because of its age. The paint is in good condition. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the overall paint with a 7 or 8. All glass is good, the windows roll up & down perfectly, the chrome shows very well. I have attempted to describe this vehicle to the best of my ability through the write up and pictures. Often times, photos can be misleading so I will point out any negative items that I am aware of: the dash is smooth but has a couple of cracks, the steering wheel has cracks due to age, the majority of the chrome is in good shape but one piece behind the back window is dented. As previously mentioned, the paint is very nice but where the side moulding once was, you can see scratches in the light. Since we have owned the vehicle, it never had the side moulding. The actual milage for this vehicle is unknown. It does have a small exhaust leak. I want to clarify rust free vehicle, to my knowledge, this vehicle has never been exposed to weather or salt that would cause body rust. There were signs of rust in the trunk that was caused by a defective trunk seal lid. This weather stripping was replaced. My title research of this vehicle indicates that it has been in CA, NV, & AZ. The car is being sold "AS IS" condition with no warranty. It is 48 years old and is in remarkable shape for its age. It is a daily driver, and is not perfect. This car may be inspected anytime before the auction has ended. Final payment is due in 5 working days and the car must be picked up within 2 weeks unless other arrangements are made with the seller.
