Selling my rare 1987 Mercedes 190D, naturally aspirated (non-Turbo), 5 speed manual transmission, with 245,XXX miles This model has power windows, locks, and sunroof. I purchased the vehicle 2 years ago for $1800 and have done the following: The good: Restored the A/C system Replaced the rear drive shaft, this car has absolutely no wobble New fuel return lines and cleaned or replaced injectors New hood prop rod New front brakes, November 2011 New tires (90% tread) Tinted windows New paint, bumpers and body work; absolutely no dents, no rust (the car has lived most of its life in California or Texas) New modern speakers and radio (satellite ready) w/ IPOD/MP3 interface New belt hanger and serpentine belt Oil changed 03/01/2012 Total cost of restoration was $5200 The bad: The car smokes a bit during start up and after idle until it is warmed up. I put No Smoke oil additive in and it seems to have fixed the issue. Broken odometer. I purchased the vehicle w/ the odometer broken. I hate to part w/ this vehicle but my family has grown and we need a bigger second car. This car is a daily driver and is mechanically sound. I have driven this car cross country and it runs like new. It gets approximately 30-40 mpg and will run smooth at 75 mph (Texas highway speed limit) without an issue. These Mercedes diesel engines are amazing! The vehicle has been serviced by only Mercedes certified mechanics. I am asking $3400 OBO for this one of a kind vehicle. I searched 3 years for a manual transmission Mercedes. They are very rare and none that I had found were in near as good as condition as this one. This vehicle is for pick up. Buyer is responsible for transportation. Vehicle is titled in Texas, but the car is in Maryland. Serious inquiries only please.
