Vehicle Detail
First off, regarding the "Cobra" mentioned in the listing title; that's what's on the title for this Mustang. I've tried to research this, and have found conflicting information. What I believe is that for 1989, "Cobra" was added to the Mustang GT label for certain Mustangs depending on where they were produced, with no actual difference between GT vs GT Cobra as far as options, performance equipment, etc. I don't know for a fact just what the "Cobra" label may or may not mean for 1989 Mustang GT; but it says that on the title, so there it is. I imagine I will receive a comment or two discussing this. Offered here is the least expensive driving fox body GT 5 speed convertible Mustang you will find on eBay. Car sold strictly as is where is, with all the bad and all the good, no warranties. Winning bidder shall pay a $250 deposit via paypal within 48 hours from end of auction. Failure to pay deposit forfeits bidder's rights and we'll move on to someone else (but I hope not, I really want you to have it!). Balance to be paid in cash at pick up. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Inspections are invited and encouraged. I acquired this car from one of my kids. He bought it from someone else, then he wound up between jobs so his plans changed. When I bailed him out of the car, I toyed with the idea of throwing the drive train into a '67, but I won't get to that any time soon, plus I'd hate to tear the car up. The title is free and clear; that is to say that there are no liens, and it is signed and open and in hand. I did not change it over. If an open title concerns you, if you prefer I will change it over and we can schedule final payment and pick up for after when the title comes back. However; I will require that the winning bidder pays the deposit mentioned above first. I drove the car around the block a few times. It starts fine, stops fine, shifts through all gears as it should, clutch feels fine. Known flaws: -rear windows don't move (the switches are good and you can hear the motors running, but the windows don't go up or down) -needs exhaust work (I'm told that there are cat's and nothing from there back, I haven't been under the car so I don't know for a fact what's there and what isn't) -needs a new top; you're not getting rained on, but it needs one -there is rust low at the inner front towers (I can't get a pic of the area, and it's actually tough to see with everything there under the hood in the way, but it's there so please be aware of it) -radio missing -interior is sort of so-so, most notable is a worn through spot in the driver's seat edge (overall maybe not so bad for an '89 Mustang, but it is what it is) The pluses: -It's a GT Mustang with a full body kit -has all four turbine alloy wheels -Power convertible top works -front power windows work A few other things worth mentioning; -I put 109K in for mileage; there is no 6th digit so I'm guessing 109K, could be 209K or 909K, I'm pretty sure it's not a 9 thousand mile car but who knows? Title shows "exempt" -the trunk lid obviously needs to be painted, but it's solid and I assume that it is a replacement from another car -as shown in the pics the car has standard tail lights, there is a set of GT slots in the trunk but the passenger's side is broken, driver's side is good You now know about as much about this car as I do. I will be happy to send you more pics, please be specific about what you want to see. Please ask any questions you have. Please feel free to inspect the car. PLEASE do these things before placing a bid. Thanks for looking.
